Cotto fought well,stayed calmed and used his superior boxing skills to dominate the fight HOWEVER,he took more punches that I would've liked to see,every time Mayorga went on the offense he landed on Cotto almost at will,despite the adjustments on his stance he still very hittable,he even had him a little wobbly in the 7 rd.This certainly spells doom for Cotto in a possible rematch with Margacheato who is way more aggressive than Mayorga,and connects that dreaded uppercut with higher efficiency.

Cotto is one cool customer. Maximum respect to Miguel for the way he conducts himself in the ring and outside of it. Although he lost fair and square to Manny he fought valiantly and there is no shame in that. There will aways be controversy surrounding the Margarito defeat though as it is likely that he had the dodgy handwraps for that fight also, otherwise I think Cotto would have won a decision. If they fight again I think Cotto prevails. Mayorga is entertaining but ultimately a joke.

@ricardodelgado Cotto has tons of heart. He took some vicious shots from Margarito and didn't get finished until the 11th round. As for Manny, I really don't see how you can make the comparison with the best boxer in the world today to Mayorga. Pacman is 10X quicker than Mayorga will ever be and his defense is solid (though I will admit he gets tagged more than Mayweather). Mayorga doesn't have a granite chin either, he's been put away viciously by Trinidad, De La Hoya and Mosley
