Mayorga fought like a tough guy competition amateur with the will of a fierce lion. His unorthodox style of fighting made him dangerous with strikes coming from every and unexpected angles. His trash talking ways and antics were always entertaining, also satisfying was watching him get the beat downs he deserved! He was a showman and a clown who delivered the laughs, and drew us in to watch his fights!

Never forget when Shane Mosley was competing with Roy jones for the p4p spot and weeks later gets beaten twice by Vernon Forrest…Forrest with an unbeaten record jumped into the top ten p4p fighters for beating Mosley twice in the same year and not long after that mayorga came in as an underdog and knocked Forrest out in the 3rd round 😂 and smoked a cigarette during the interview and then beat him again in a rematch…that was quite an era for boxing rip Vernon Forrest

I would say he was great, and was cheated in three fights, beginning with the Trinidad fight, and the 2nd Mosely fight, right along with the Mayweather fight. I thought he was cheated in all three fights, and by the time he fought Pac, he was past his prime, and probably wasn't in the best of shape. But age caught up to him, just like to all fighters.
