Doesn't seem like a villain, someone in the middle I would assume. One Piece Live action is so gooooood. Loved finally seeing Sanji too, guy is hilarious and has skills in the kitchen and kickin.

I love that they just stayed put and observed the duel, especially Luffy. I am glad they respected his honor (and his wish) even though he got badly wounded. Mihawk respected it too.

The showrunner Steven Maeda said that Oda didn’t want the live action portraying romantic relationships between the crew. He was adamant about it. Which I’m glad because I feel like the live action would’ve skewed it way more that way and that’s not accurate to the source. Sanji is a flirt though, that’s definitely accurate.

Keep in mind that every single fight in the anime is so overly drawn out with unnecessary side characters, that their streamlining of it is a good thing.

@@falxonPSN Streamlining is good, but cutting the end of the east blue saga is definitely a time/budget issue, not just streamlining. They have at least a decade of content to go through, they can't afford to paces themselves too slowly. Next time I hope we get 10 episodes otherwise we'll never get through the whole thing.

Actually Garp doesn't have a devil fruit power and if you add to that his past and all his achievements as a soldier and hero of the navy it makes him more impressive and respectable, just to bad that he's less funny and touching than in the anime.

I think it's just the cast having good chemistry bc OP is pretty well-known for staying away from romance by and large, esp with the main cast. At most, you'll see them on the receiving end of one-sided crushes (except Sanji). I would say closest thing to an actual romance for the main crew would probably be Usopp/Kaya and even that never gets confirmed in the manga/anime.

One thing to keep in mind with One Piece is that the world very much function on a rule that's different than ours. For example, in the One Piece world in the original manga, humans do not stop growing at their 20s like we do in our world. In the manga, Garp's height is nearly three meters tall at 287cm (9'5"), and that is not considered special in the One Piece world. Of course, they can't really replicate that in live-action, but understanding that one rule gives you an idea as to why characters like Garp and Mihawk are so monstrously powerful even without a devil fruit.

@@AlexandAnime Not really a spoiler, but one fun fact. The tallest known human character in the One Piece manga is 880 cm (28'10") in height. Would be interesting to see how the live-action adapts her if they get to that point in the story.

Garp is one of the strongest non devil fruit eaters, everything he can do is through a training he did as a normal human. Shanks, Mihawk and even Kuro fall under the same category. There is a concept in the anime/manga where normal humans can surpass their physical limitations without devil fruit powers and be super strong.

HawkEye Dracule Mihawk, comes around ep 23 in the anime...I often tell dudes that Ep 23 is the hook. But Ep 4 is where fun begins with Buggy coming in, and around Ep 37 is the main Early selling point of the series.

Well, we know when the anime comes close to its ending, all of them are gonna achieve their dreams. Luffy will be the King of the Pirates, Zoro will become the greatest swordsman. As french, we only say Baratié.😂 the é looks like a lot than the e in Dr Dre, but more acute. Which is normal because we call the accent on the e, accent aigu (acute accent). The same one than in Champs Élysées.
