So Taz Skylar, who plays Sanji, did extensive amounts of training to fight like Sanji. I believe he is now a Black Belt in Taekwondo and teaches Capoeira as well, those being the two martial arts styles he had to learn for this

Every actor sells their character so well. This show is impeccably casted. Mihawk and Buggy are standouts. Mihawk is so friggin cool, and I love his voice, he sounds so bored with everything, like an aristocrat. While Buggy is salty and wild.

Literally when I saw Garp pick up the cannonball is when the last of my reservations about the show disappeared and I fell fully in love with it. I saw them shooting cannons at the end of the last episode and was like "aw....I guess him throwing cannonballs IS too ridiculous for the live action..." and then he picked it up this episode and I fully cheered. It's great every time. It's a show that says "yeah, this is ridiculous, but who cares! It's cool as fuck too!"

The reason Don Krieg is at Baratie in the manga is because Mihawk sunk his grand line fleet. Krieg wanted to take the Baratie as his new ship to re-try to enter the grand line

Yeah Gin was a part of Don Krieg's crew and was a pretty pivotal character in that arc. They just cut Don Krieg out which is fair because having a new antagonist that Luffy has to fight every 2 episodes would have been too much I think. And Kuro was too important for Usopp's story where as you can easily just take Krieg out without impacting Sanji's.

I really loved the introduction of the 7 Warlords here and what that entails for the OP world. So there's Mihawk, a pirate, that does the World Government's bidding, but only to a certain extent (as him letting Luffy go showed us). And there's Garp, a Marine, who refuses to get promoted, to quite literally do the same thing, though from within said organization. I'm glad they brought up that fact, since it was already weird that someone with the moniker "Hero of the Marines", who on top of that captured the Pirate King, was not the Fleet Admiral or at least an Admiral of the Marines.

They have agendas of their own, some of which being directly in conflict with the government, but they still work for them, at least part-time

I've been to a place like that, a floating restaurant for boats to dock at and use. I was like 11 or something. I remember going to the edge and looking down in the water to see 100's of fish faces looking up at me waiting for me to drop food or something. There was a little wood knot (Like a circle of wood) and I just quickly kicked it in and watched as each fish closed their mouth around it then spit it out and the next fish did the same, it was a big chain reaction. I immediately felt bad, but didn't have any food yet. I wondered then and now what would happen if someone dove in, would feel weird no doubt. Anyways, yeah things like that exist and they're cool, basically just a floating restaurant.

A lot of people pronounce Baratie both ways, especially in the west so that's likely why you never got corrected. I've always known it as Barati-ay like how the show pronounces it, so to me that sounds better, and I believe that's the official pronunciation based on comments I've seen of people that say that's how it's spelled out in Japanese.

Well, the characters in Japanese for Baratie are pronounced like Ba-rah-tee-eh like they are saying in this show, plus it's pronounced that same way in the anime, so it's safe to say that IS the correct pronunciation. I don't know if I had ever even considered that it would be pronounced another way. Edited to remove a non applicable point.

the only thing missing from killing Kreig this way to me is the fact that we don’t get Zeffs speech about Luffy’s determination. “Even a man bristling with powerful weapons can be skewered by the spear of blind grit”

No matter how often you mispronounce the Baratie’s name won’t make it correct. The crew other than Luffy all had money and that’s how they paid for their food and drinks. Zoro - bounty hunter Nami - master thief Usopp - job at the shipyard Only Luffy had no money and ordered 1 of everything on the menu. Don Kreig is absolutely dead. They smartly decided to not waste time making him an antagonist. If you see a character with a look that stands out, but doesn’t have much of a role in this series they likely had a bigger role in the original story and are included as Easter eggs.

The whole Goku kissing thing from Super was a miscommunication. Goku was confused seeing Trunks feed the senzu bean to Mai like a baby bird, because he's never seen two people do that before. Vegeta was the one who misread that as Goku not knowing what kissing was.
