I am always put off by influencers who insistently declare they're not being paid, yet somehow don't classify the fact that they asked for/received free product (a privilege not available to the average person) as a potential incentive under the same category.

Hiii I work in marketing and comms and this “mistake” was DEFINITELY planned. There’s absolutely no way 10000% that any company would be able to turn that shit around so fast. No. Way. Period. The videos were professionally shot and edited, the “evidence bags” had to be designed and mass produced, not to mention writing scripts… there’s just no way. There is SO much that has to go on in the backend in order to pull a campaign like this off.

the "lipstick heist" is a cute idea, if it was clearly the idea from the beginning like having a "ransom note" for the lipsticks and its a bit of a murder mystery/whodunit style, but what they did instead was really odd and leaves a bad taste in my mouth

For a pink lip, I tend to put Maybelline vivid hot lacquer in dark purple on for 30 minutes and wipe it off with a wet wipe then add a clear gloss (typically LA Color) or chapstick. It creates a deep pink stain that lasts for maybe 2-3 hours.

I do the wipe off trick too, or just dabbing my lips with some red lipstick on my finger and it works. I'm pale but pink lips are my fave😅

In regards to finding your pink lip, maybe go for a cool tone berry. think slightly purple/mauve and it might help. Pale girls unite! I have a lip balm from Shay and blue that looks too dark in the tube but gives me a cute pink lip and cheek that i never expected! x x x

Crazy how Jeffree loves to mention James’ inappropriate texting when Jeffree has worse allegations of his own: PHYSICALLY SA’d someone and paid them off to kill the story. Am I the only one who remembers the Insider article from investigative journalist Kat Tenbarge? Totally agree that’s it’s more than just old racist tweets, which is already terrible. He also called Jackie Aina a gorilla in like 2016 during the height of the beauty community (so he wasn’t only racist in the old MySpace days). He’s the last one who needs to call out anyone lmao

The reason i think its planned is that if i was sent a PR box and im opening it in a video. If i got to them being empty, i would have NOT posted it. I would have reached out to a contact or their marketing person and asked whats happening and give them a chance to fix it before posting an empty haul... 🤷‍♀️ So maybe she DID do that, and when she reached out they said. "No, post your reactions" its supposed to be empty. Theres more to come. That would explain the awkward video to me. Because if she peaked in her box. Saw it was empty and reached out BEFORE posting. But they told her to still post, she is now in on it. And just a bad actress, i guess. Haha!

i'm the same with my lip colour! i've learnt its because i have a dark lip colour naturally and warm undertones in my lips and skin which you probably have too even though your pale and blue eyed! so i have to go for darker tones like browns and purpley pinks rather than like a pillow talk or something else that everyone likes

Missing lipsticks and the whole drama aside, that PR packaging is so excessive. CT could have easily achieved the exact same look on a much smaller scale, those packages did not need to be that large under any circumstance

Once I saw the evidence bags I knew. Someone has to design, then sign off ( and do any changes until sign off) then determine units with factory and samples ect. Then wait for production, to arrive at CT and pack the lipsticks in. Plus their pr so small units and different distribution methods to their normal stock. That doesn’t happen in a day.

a few people are saying the campaign is meant to shade e.l.f. for duping so many of their products. Idk but it does make sense given they took the whole makeup theif angle right after e.l.f. dropped that short film about makeup disappearing. Overall still dumb. most pink lipsticks tend to be warm toned causing the orange tinge you keep facing you will want to find cool toned pinks which tend towards a plum or berry tone I deal with reds on this problem due to my yellow tone skin. A lot of reds tend to be cool toned giving more of a magenta tone against my skin tone so I have to locate warm tone reds to have them look more red on me

I like Maybelline stay matt ink (i propably got the name wrong) liquid lipsticks, in the rectangle tube. They have been the only ones i can find a light pink that works for me. There used to be another drugstore brand when i was like 14 that had an amazing light pink as well but i dont remember who anymore
