Ashley might have had too many irons in the fire at once with his ongoing fight to keep his shop empire going . Not an easy job with whats gone on with the switch to online shopping .so i can understand him starving Newcastle of investment ..meanwhile Newcastle has had tremendous potential for years and never wanted to overstretch themselves. Amanda Stavely spotted this and saw the chance to sell the idea to her Arab friends who were looking for oppertunities also with the worrying declining oil market . Common sense really .it might be oil money but its not debt like at Barcelona and Man utd . So a good long term business idea and investment . Good luck to them. I see Barcelona has already had to take action to avoid bankrupcy . So oil money is preferable to debt .

@@fairandbalanced4666 The is nowhere in my post that I agree with it at all it stinks the place out . Although no fan of American football they have it correct each team gets the same amount of money to spend and that makes it more interesting and I wish the Premier Leaque would bring it in but there is to much money involved unfortunately and they are all in the trough together

@@thetruthk5138 The american model means that the owners take out all the money outside of the salary cap in profits. It is a form of cartel. A better alternative is to have a model where fans own at least 50% of the club. That way, people wouldn't have to complain about the owners of Arsenal, Man City etc all the time and whether they are good or bad.

The bundesliga will probably go 10 years with only one name on the title by the end of this season. Why people laud that league, it's 50+1 rule as the hallmark of a level playing field I do not know. These people do not live in reality. How anyone thinks FFP being brought 10 years ago is a co-incidence in correlation to what has happened in Germany, Italy, France and Spain to a lesser extent(Spain seems like it's always just had at top 3) in that time, I don't know either(how can't you see it?). To blame billionaires for what has happened in football, is like blaming a drug rehabs for the amount of drug addicts there are... They aren't the cause, they are reaction to the symptoms. Transfer inflation rocketed thanks to clubs like Real, United and Juve, long before they arrived, clubs were already buying titles like never before. The game was already broken, billionaires have made the PL more competitive than any other league in Europe if anything(it's the only way to bridge the gap now). The truth is, the superclubs have a monopoly on the game, they didn't "earn it", they stole it in the 90s, to the detriment of every other club in their leagues. Now they are doing all they can to protect their monopolies(including weaponising fans who don't know any better), FFP was part of that, the Super League was another desperate plan. Something should have been done back before the PL arrived(and the CL and the other big leagues), to ensure the profits in football were spread evenly, to stop superclubs being created. All of this ties in with the champions league and the vision they had for that relaunch in the 90s(superclubs battling it out).. If not for their own greed, there would be no need for billionaire owners, clubs would be less inclined to sell. United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Real, Barca, Bayern, Juve and the rest of the original G14 clubs are the most to blame for the decline in competitiveness in Europe and the out of control spending too.

What he always missed out on this calculation was the Value of the asset, that being a Premiership Football Club increasing year on year with the increased monies that the league as a whole has made. £304m for £134m purchase, where was that accounted for in ‘The Pot’? £170m nowhere to be seen on or off the pitch; so full of BS. However, new dawn, new Chairman & Board, and a Legally binding agreement that would expel Newcastle from the Premiership, I dont see that same clear separation at Man City or PSG who also have huge human rights-issues without separation? And we all know how Chelsea owner made his Billions with hundreds killed in the Steel wars in Russia; only one left standing has the blood of all life’s lost in that horrific mass murder over one true steel king. We could have done nothing more than we have; come prove me wrong and don’t give Newcastle fans hate; because as we found out ‘the big six’ interfered with the purchase how is that legal with competition laws? It isn’t…
