I remember when I was in high school when Babs was coaching the Ducks and everyone thought he was the coolest coach in the league. I used to tell my friends that something about him seemed off. I even joked about how he looked like some psychopath, but a part of me wasn't actually joking. Time has proven me right. The stuff he has done to other players tells me he has no empathy and no guilty conscience.

He wanted to see that so he could later punish those players who didn't want him as coach. The fact he did that after everything that went on between him and Franzen, him and Mitch Marner, tells me the guy does not have a guilty conscience, nor does he have empathy towards his players. The word psychopathy comes to mind when I think of Babcock. It makes me think he went into coaching for no other reason than to feel powerful over the players. I don't even think winning the cup satisfied him as much as punishing players.

It's a welcome change from the usual "insiders" and players do mention that they listen in and enjoy it. I'm not too invested in this particular matter but what I found kinda funny was seeing some people on Twitter that were all for demanding changes in "hockey culture" on behalf of the players, particularly the younger ones who might not want to rock the boat, instantly dismiss this to bad-talk Chiclets/ PB.

shiiiiiiit, Chiclets making real waves in League today. The conversational/locker-room talk style of this pod may lead to some negativity. Granted. But the arguments aren't wrong. I think that the Chiclets boys are trying to share the real takes, but as always, also have a little levity and some humour in their delivery. That needs to be seriously considered here. Clearly Babcock isn't without controversy, and he is a very polarizing coach. But now he's resigned. Even if you had a squeaky clean record and you don't have this long resume of how you speak to players, bullying allegations and have sus tactics, its not surprising he's out. It may not be the media-trained, best delivery of the story, but the boys are outlining a real issue where a dinosaur coach isn't suited to coach in 2023 NHL. But Tuesdays ep is gonna be joooookes

Not even a good coach. Won in Detroit (only once, could've been alot more) and with Team Canada with all-time great lineups. Rode JS Giguere to the SCF in 2003. When he led a young team that needed real coaching in Toronto, he shat the bed. He was also petty in Sochi too - he barely played Subban, the reigning Norris winner. Would love to see tough questions asked about that too. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he's racist to go along with his other upstanding qualities.

He was just lucky he landed on an elite team. JS Giguere carried him to the finals when he was in Anaheim. The Ducks would have never made it that far if not for outstanding goaltending.
