Thanks for these. I never thought I'd live to see the day where mastering engineers, record store owners, and folks sitting around talking about music, especially jazz, are rock gods.

You are so correct. I never thought that I would see the day, either. It's a good time to love vinyl.

Good stuff all of you. Two quick observations: 1. Mike Esposito has done fantastically well riding the vinyl wave out of the pandemic (it's a great story) but that he has built his business and brand during this time with unwavering transparency, fairness and integrity is an absolute credit to him. The vinyl community at large will continue to benefit from the standard he's set as the market in which we buy records evolves. 2. The three bums do an exceptional job here of giving their interviewee time and space to talk. Too often vc interviewers come across as overly eager to have their own voices heard. Avoiding this takes skill, patience, and a genuine interest in the subject. It's really well done, especially in that there are three of you doing it. Simultaneously giving the interviewee and eachother space in a way that comes across as relaxed and organic is impressive. Well done!

Really appreciate Mike E. He was the first KZfaq source I listened to when I was getting into vinyl and Jazz during the pandemic. (He and the other Mike. Michael Ludwig - 45 RPM Audiophile. ) Great interview you guys! Learned a lot about him and the record selling thang!

Great video gentlemen. As an Australian, Mike has been a God send. He really has managed to get the whole cost of freight really sorted and his team are amazing with quick responses to enquiries. For anyone outside the US, I cannot recommend his business highly enough.

That was super-fun, the whole hour and half was great. I really liked that Mike picked some records for show and tell about their stories. Mike is such a good dude, the VC is lucky he found his passion.

This was a fun interview, subbed up! I had a few nice jazz pieces I collected in the 90s, had kids, & now 18 yrs later back and have largely been reliant upon Mike to continue the jazz journey. Looking forward to learning from this channel as well. 😁🧐

This was such a great conversation! I learned so much about Mike, his business and his process that I’d always been interested in knowing. I own his Wild Thymes release and it’s absolutely top notch, sounds incredible. I hope he takes on a project like that again in the future, maybe even making his own small “The In Groove” label.

I haven’t dropped off, if anything I’ve been buying more limited boxes, plus I’m still entrenched in the fomo belief. I think it’s just takes me years to catch up to where everyone else is. I like Mike, he gets some bad press but I admire his take on the marketplace and his knowledge of pressings. Great interview, thank you!

Folks lambast collectors like Mike who gravitate towards mainstream -popular sounds, but if you run a generic record store and can't tolerate listening to Led Zeppelin, Elvis, Steely Dan, ......each day is going to be deeply depressing.

The best way to make your wife like or appreciate jazz is to listen to the gnarliest, nastiest, abrasive grindcore or death metal you can find, on a daily basis... when she gets absolutely enraged with what she's hearing put on some jazz... she will change her mind about it, guaranteed...
