Hey y’all! I think this is one of the most important interviews that I’ve done, ever. Talking with mike gave us the inside look at exactly what happens when you’re investigating Internet child crimes. Also, a look at just how prevalent these things are.
Thank you for riding out with us today! As always, one love y’all!

It’s incredibly hard. My dad was a detective in child crimes when my brother and I were growing up. When I was young, I didn’t understand the gravity of all that. My dad was strict and kept close eyes on us but can you blame the man? He is an incredible man. He’s always been an incredible guy and my brother followed and joined the department and I got degrees in PSI and PF. I wanted to work in corrections before my health took a massive hit.

My daughter was a frontline Child Protection Officer in Canada for 11 years. She had to change jobs because of PTSD. I can’t even begin to imagine the things she’s seen. She took confidentiality very seriously and never revealed details to me, but I knew if the phone rang at suppertime when she was home from work, it was a bad day. There aren’t enough jail cells for these perpetrators. They are soul destroyers.

11 years as a secondary teacher. I have vivid nightmares where I’m bleeding out on the floor and my kids have been hit and there’s nothing I can do. THAT is the nightmare. They don’t get out. Yall should do one with what to do. Yeah we all get training but I teach high school and these kids know my rule: YOUR JOB IS TO LIVE. And in reality, sometimes the protocols won’t save you.

I have a 6 year old baby girl and her mom acts like im paranoid that i dont want to post any pictures of her on anything. She just can't grasp i guess that it may not just be loved ones who gain access to those photos. You are making a right choice, unfortunately parents seem unaware that the information they are posting might help someone locate and kidnap their kids. Don't post where your kid lives, where they go to school, what you have in your house, what are your relatives names and so on. There have been cases where information like that was used to track, access and kidnap kids from school or convince them to get in the car because "your aunt X from Z sent me". Your kid should also be having a say whether they image is plastered on the internet, especially with the amount of cyber bullying going on.

I turned my dad in for molestation when I was 16. I went through a county group counseling. We met with a group of father's who were the ones who molested their daughters. There were psychologists there that ran the meeting. I had a heated discussion with one father who said it was is "right" to teach his daughter about sex. He had no remorse about what he did to his daughter.

This is a great conversation. One thing i can add is that generational child abusers are the least reported. If spilling tea online was safe...id elaborate. Ive met six personally. Each was a professional..my father, an architect, my stepfathers and my mothers lawyer. Each came from family that had been abusing children for eons. Is it epigenetic in some families?Absolutely Wish saying more was possible. Thank you both.

I appreciate the folks who are built to do the work that Mike does! It really takes a special person to go out and stop these people who are monsters and do not belong in a civilized society! Thank you for bringing all this educational information to the masses. I do my PTSD-MST therapy, yet married an abuser that is now threatening me and my safety, and the cops have basically told us they can't help us until we are being carried by 6 and if the abuser is caught and judged by 12. I feel that THIS needs to change! We ask for help from every alphabet agency in the world, yet it all falls on deaf ears, or it is pushed off to some other department. Adult Protective Services has gotten involved and they don't even know how to help me and my children be safe from him, since he is ex military and ex cop that lost his gun rights due to mental illness. It is a terrible feeling to be scared and alone! This has been extremely detrimental to my PTSD from my time in the military.

That last part about school shootings just absolutely crushed my heart. I've never considered these officers have to run right past wounded and dying children and potentially have to kill another child if they're the shooter. AWFUL. Makes the Uvalde situation even more of a tragedy because with how long they waited, they had to run past many more victims than they would've if they'd just manned up and charged in. I hope he's right that they didn't have all the facts or there was miscommunication. Really, really appreciate his take on how it may have broken down.

Agreed. I was never targeted as a young child but calling it that other thing gives it connotations that I personally do not agree with. That other thing is done between consenting adults (or should be) and you should not just be able to slap the word child in front of it and have it mean something entirely different in terms of consent and outcome. Thank you for coming forward and letting everyone know how it affects you. I think that's super important.

my dad was a social worker for 39 years and dealt with the aftermath of these bastards for most of it. I had a practice/gym in the garage with a heavy bag and some free weights. I got home late and found him kneeling in front of the now bloody bag out of breath and crying with his knuckles raw from going ham on it. I didnt say anything just got him in the house cleaned up his knuckles and showed how to tape them up for bareknuckle work, "next time wake me up ill help". About twenty odd times while i was still living at home he would wake me up and i would help him tape up and use pads to help him vent some rage at what he saw. The best way to describe my dad was a english butler from a pbs show, to see the raw rage in someone like that makes me give complete respect to anyone that can deal with that and not crack.

My grandpa had a friend named big jimmy, one time grandpa and him was drinking stump liquor, joking and laughing. Grandpa went in the house to get his snuff and big jimmy looked at me and said “let me see that pecker boy” I so “why” he said “I just wanna pinch it for ya”.. grandpa came back out with his snuff and I told him what happened. Big jimmy said I was lying and called me a bunch of names. Grandpa told me to go in the house so I did. Ole big jimmy ended up getting beat with an already on fire piece of firewood. He was out there screaming bloody murder. Last time I saw the man he was running for his life while my grandpa swung a framing hammer at his back. Grandpa was yelling like a wild man, he literally sounded like an ape with his nuts wrapped in electric fence wire. Grandpa threw the hammer right through jimmys windshield of his truck as he was tearing out of the driveway. A few minutes later jimmy drove his truck in to a phone pole and went through the windshield because he was drunk off stump liquor.

Part of the reason I want able to finish 4 more years in order to hit 30 for full DOC retirement was from the injuries caused by an inmate assault. The other reason was PTSD and anxiety, and it wasn't due to the inmates. I didn't trust the agency anymore after seeing how the situation was handled. On the topic of burnout, it's very easy to become jaded, untrusting, and hyper vigilant just working in a prison, with burnout close behind, let alone not being able to leave like the inmates. Pure hell. I can't blame anyone for maxing out after two years of that.

Parents need to take the reigns back. Which in our current climate is so difficult. Society caters to children sadly bc parents don't like saying no. As a parent of 4, my last being 12yo I have been able to keep their internet use mostly protective. But I promise you just like anything we did as teens, we found a way to do what our parents won't approve of. My advice is to keep communication very open with your kids. Saying "don't " is the green light to do. Be honest, listen, and love your child whilst not being afraid to put strong boundaries in place with significant consequences when they break or push those boundaries. Best wishes to all parents, it's very hard to protect your children. Keep educating yourself with JD and people like Mike. One love💙🇦🇺

Thank you both for doing such good work...I wish the court systems were better about how they treat victims...I am a CSA and DV survivor. My daughter is as well and my sons are DV survivors. My divorce experience was horribly disillusioning...the GAL accused me of coaching my daughter. So that will give you an idea of how PWC, VA treats assault victims. We all have PTSD... and I was left wondering if it would have been better if i stayed....Now...when she was a teen he recivitated, and my daughter (age 24) attempted suicide last year...she likes your show too...she didnt get justice so we are both a believer in prison justice..we are waiting to see if they starve Ruby F....or my daughter thinks they will shave her head and make her gain weight.....anyway my ex is a selfish narcissist ..and the only way to heal is to stay away from them......but kids dont get that choice ...this is a long way around of saying it is so difficult for sexual assault survivors to come forward because of this. Society has an effed up way of treating chomos better than their victims.... I work in HR and I commonly hear about discrimination, harassment, retaliation......why did it take so long for he/she to come forward...i even heard...what was she wearing....well...because he/she were afraid of not being believed and being retaliated against...someone asked what she did or he to bring it on.... i have a lot of victim advocate training..recently someone asked why I chose the words like coerce instead of perform in my report..because one implies consent is why...I want people to start thinking about how to not retraumatize victims...and stop thinking someone "would not do that"...our society hasn't changed ...and that is why prison justice must exist..lol. thanks for all you both do...

I was told by a teen victim support worker that over 93% of internet crime is child sexual crimes.. I was abit shocked to hear that tbh, I thought financial scams would be the majority of internet crimes. Parents really do need to be aware of what their children are doing online.

You should check out the story of SFC Charles Martland. The man is a legitimate hero who never really got the recognition he deserved. He put his career on the line with Special Forces to save an 11 year old that was kidnapped and raped by the local ANA Commander.

The problem is the cops go after people who look a certain way wether that be due to skin color or the wrong clothes or tattoos. The don't go after the goofs who wear suits or have lots of money.

I like to see justice done for that young girl they just found today. JD they found that missing Texas girl today!!! She was only 11!!! Killer was a family friend. We need to focus more on the children that end up victims of chomos than celebrities rn. Sad situation. Thoughts and prayers to her family… I could never imagine the pain of losing a child to a child predator. Justice will be served on that creep for sure. Texas doesn’t play.

32:35 back when Craigslist was really popular for like a good 10 years you would get check scammers trying to send you a check for more then you wanted for an item and you send some back to them. I would say yeah man send me the check and I would give them the address to the FBI building in my city lol and they would message me asking if I Got the check and I send a screenshot of the address to them

Insofar as I'm aware, the Pain Olympics features all adult men. I watched it when I was 13 and I'm 28 now; as shocking as it is, it doesn't exploit children. Just wanted to clear up any confusion, given the topics of discussion.

Having cops deal with these horrendous situations and then expect them to be completely fine is wild. It’s like how they make doctors work 20 hours and expect them to be at their absolute best. Companies need to focus more on mental health for their employees. It’s really sad

This would probably mentally scar for life being in that field. I remember me and a buddy wanted to see how easy it was to catch predator. We went into a chatroom, said were a 14 year old female, within minutes we had 15 plus dudes in our inbox. That alone mentally messed me up. These predators are open and comfortable from what I see.

Omg every thing this cop says about they don't get a pass about what kind of person it could be is something I've always thought like politicians ,church people ,teachers ,cops ,ect .. I don't trust easily and I don't care what job you have if you're a religious person/spiritual people whatever people have to show me with their actions as to why I should trust but even then I still feel like I always have to be on guard I guess for me trust is really hard to give anyone .......❤ from 🇨🇦 keep it up man love your channel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 have a good one 👍🏻

There’s a lot of it in the black community too they just don’t do it online as it’s a lot easier to find “prime victims” in the “hood” and black culture does not tell and always makes excuses… 80% or more of black women i know were molested by a family friend, or relative and the family just pretended it never happened… shits sad frfr
