Piazza came up with Pedro Martinez in 1992. Dodgers traded both of them in their absolute prime.

Sad day when Dodgers let him get away. Nicest guy. I met him while working security. He did a signing at our store and stayed longer because there were so many people. He let me drive his Mercedes up to building so he could quickly leave out an emergency door. Peace ✌

The only non Dodger jersey I ever bought. I idolized this dude as a kid and still followed him on the Mets. He wouldn’t have been the best Dodger player ever skill wise but he could’ve been their Kobe, like a lifelong Dodger.

I don’t blame him for not liking the direction of the team they were bafoons in those days it all started with trading Pedro. By 1995 they could’ve had a playoff rotation of the 2 Martinez brothers, Nomo, and Valdez. Not bad

Mike Piazza should never have been traded from the Dodgers. That was after the O’Malleys sold the team to Rupert Murdoch and the idiot in charge at FOX traded him.
