I think it would have been better to first allow him time to receive counseling and understand that he has been in a mind control group and then interview him. That last thing that Mr. Rinder said at the end of the interview is a bit concerning. Rinder is a good guy who's trying to stop some of the abuses he saw and even participated in himself. But he is still delusional if, after everything he's seen and been through, he thinks that people could in any way benefit from nonsense that Hubbard pulled out of the hat once Miscavige's abuses are eliminated. It's a good indication of how powerful a grip cults and the irrational beliefs they are selling can get on an otherwise reasonable person's mind. So Mike still has some revovering to do. I do wish him well as he advances through what must be an agonizing process for him.

You only need a signed release if the publication of the images are for non-editorial, commercial purposes. If you don't have a release, then you could open yourself to possible civil action if your use of the images portray the subject in an untruthful or misleading light which causes them some sort of loss or damages, but there's no legal restriction before the fact to stop someone from publishing images that were legally obtained in such a manner.
