I havn't skated for 10 years. I started in the 80s and stopped in 2003 so the late 80s and 90s has special meaning to me. I still watch recent clips of skating but I just do not see it the same as I did back then.

Yea but there are also alot of people that not everyone knows about doing crazy tricks. And also everyone that skateboards is going to start doing tricks like a tre flip and hardflip down gaps no matter what, its what you first learn to do down stairs, but once they get them down, if they really want to go somewhere in skateboarding they will learn to do more tricks down stairs and whatnot

Look up my friend Adam Miller. He's got a few videos on here. Adam's in high school and is a local at our park, and he does so many creative tricks as well as so-called 'normal' tricks. His only sponsor is the local shop. I have witnessed more never-been-done tricks from him than anybody else (I'm filming his first full video part).

There will always be people who don't get the credit they deserve, that's how life is.And yes every one will start with similar stuff, but some will just mock other skaters and do what they do(which everyone does) but some just never get to that creative point doing things people wouldn't think of doing.Making new combos, trying new tricks, even though some are completely capable. But that doesn't matter, its about the fun, do what you like, in the end that's all that really matters

Will do,but first I need a new camcorder because I don't want to use my friends flip. You have to stand far back its not bad quality just a pain in the ass to use. So Im saving up for a sony fx7.I also have to wait till, its not frezzing out to film

Exactly, What I'm saying is skateboarding is a completely independent "sport", you don't need anyone else theirs no set rules, yes contests make it more into one, but you can still bend the rules and do your own thing. But many people aren't contest skaters, skateboarding is what you make it.

@@bradpnw1897 It just depends on what you want to get out of it. If you have the skill level, consistency and can deal with pressure, contests make sense. This is not the only option though.

Haha sorry you feel that way man but believe it or not alot of people obviously start skating for fun, but some just loose that passion but continue to try to be successful in it.Ive seen it a lot, for me I love skating I could skate the rest if my life and never get bored, i would also love to get somewhere in it but if not that's fine too but I guess I'm just blank as fuck

I don't think I did misinterpret your comment. Daewon's part in 5-incher is infinitely creative and weird, and none of his tricks are common. I agree that a lot of people who watch skate videos do care about the idea of "doing a trick differently", but the way skateboarding is perceived and criticized doesn't change skateboarding itself. That's just my opinion though, not saying you're wrong or anything.

The older days of skateboarding were incredible, but what's to say today's skateboarding isn't? To me, skateboarding is skateboarding. We shouldn't judge fellow skaters or label them because of the tricks they do. Your skating should reflect you and what you find fun, whether it's a 360 flip or a boneless, and not be based on someone else's opinion. Everyone views skating different and that's the beauty of it. The only glory days in skateboarding are the ones you create yourself.

Dude the old skateboard days seemed so awesome now its like everyone its too serious for the wrong reasons they think that any trick that's uncommon is dumb or doesn't count or stupid to have in a part.Their so judgmental. Sure I love doing 360 flips or hard flips and so on but I love doing some stuff that people wouldn't think of , skating about creativity theirs not suppose to be rules.People need to remember its about the fun, not rules that's why we skate, were not playing sports.

Well "son", I know my history because I was there. Plan B was part of Dwindle which also distributed World Industries, 101, etc. but Plan B was an entirely different company. Saying Carroll skated for World is like saying Koston skates for Anti-Hero.

Naho, I think it started as h street which was separate from world but then Mike ternasky left h street to start plan b under world and took most the skaters from h street including Mike c . Then caroll and Rick Howard left plan b to start girl. It wasn't until later when plan b started up again seperately. I think Danny way and Colin mckay got that going again

You weren't there, you don't know. Todays skating is rad and the difficulty level is ridiculous but it is too competitive and too much like an organized sport. Kids train all day at the skatepark trying to make sponsor-me videos and the fun is gone.

I'm not saying theres no more creative people, there's a lot, daewon, haslem, mullen, chris cole, Richie jackson, mike v,and many more.A Lot of people are creative especially pros, (that's one of the reasons the company's sponsor them)But more and more as the years go on, the people I SEE AT PARKS, are all starting to do all the same stuff, and have almost the identical style. Like I said earlier there will always be creative and uncreative people.

I would say stuff like that's less about creativity and more about trying to be the most skillful than other skaters. yeah, stuff like double flips, late flips and complicated stuff down stairs aren't always done, but it's not because people are being creative with it, it's cause of the skater's skill level. It's not creative when a big pro like starts adding late flips and combos to his stuff and everyone starts doing the same exact thing.

I 100% agree, its like someone can do a bunch of tricks but they all look like shit, and they barley land them, its way better to do a couple tricks very nice and clean. which is a huge part of style. I like your saying man, or who ever made it up.

Well actually i disagree with you. People now a days are actually doing tricks that aren't your regular tricks like a tre flip. People are starting to do douple flps and late flips and other tricks like ghetto birds down stairs. I actually think you dont see the regular basic tricks as much as you used to because people are actually getting more creative
