Howdy, y'all! My name is Mike and I absolutely love scavenging for free stuff, random treasures, lost valuables and other interesting artifacts. We had a load of scrap today from a house clearance we did, the scrapman we called wanted paying to come get it too. 🤣🤣🤣 he got told to get lost. he'd make so much from weighing it in. plenty of others that'll take it for free & make their money that way.

Mike the orange tube you picked up is for holding welding rods and keeping them dry away from moisture. Remember the O-ring below the threads on the top. That seals out any moisture.

Great score on the grey shelving! Used to sell industrial storage solutions and you were spot on with it being heavy duty. You’ll need a the cross braces to connect the T-post, shelf clips and you’ll be in business!

The banana doughnuts are for electric magnets. You wrap copper wire around them and then apply voltage to the wire, which will cause it to be a magnet and a very strong one at that.

Mike has to be one of the hardest working scrappers ever, and the most entertaining, so I subscribed. The energy he puts into clearing stuff is second to none. Where I live in Yorkshire, UK, dumpsters (we call ‘em skips) are usually locked or locked in fenced compounds. Even when they’re accessible, they’re usually full of builders rubble or garden rubbish. I think Americans must be less conscious of the value of what they throw away than Brits. I never see anything like what Mike finds. I must admit, I’m quite envious.

Thanks for another great episode! What a good dumpster that is turning out to be! I also have a spare magnet like your round one in my truck. When I forget my stick magnet, I just stick my round magnet on to a metal stick and use that.
