I just love how Seth’s show is like a safe place for former and current SNL cast members to talk about their experiences and failures on SNL. Seth is basically the school psychologist of SNL.

I remember Mikey from high school. He was pretty funny back then too. The sketches he did for drama class were pretty hilarious. Good to see he ended up being successful.

I officially like Mikey Day and I had no idea who he was before clicking on this. He was in Haunted Elevator (the best SNL sketch ever imo) plus his pitches he brought up here sound amazing to me, I almost can't comprehend why they failed to get greenlit. Everyone should watch Michael Che doing a stand up special. I am not sure where it originally aired, but I caught it on KZfaq. I have always liked Che's writing, and had seen him do some short stand up with other people, but he is excellent. I don't know why he isn't hugely successful.

the problem is that it's fundamentally a sight gag -- it doesn't particularly work in writing or just telling it. I feel like it's a joke that would have landed better if he pitched it with like a demo reel he filmed on his smartphone or something

Props to the person/people who do the subtitles: when Mikey says "mortal combat ten was coming out" at 5:11, the subtitles say "Mortal Kombat X was coming out." The subtitle/captioning people are also great other times, ex: saying when people are doing impressions or something comedic sound-wise. So thanks--it's noticed and appreciated 😘
