I guess what meant was that only certain actors can commit to such a goofy character.. and go all in.. maybe Alec Baldwin or Christopher Walken and then of course someone like Aston Kucher can commit to such a Goofy character and just go all out with it without even really knowing what it's about or maybe just not having any fear to commit to such a Goofy character and go out.... As I think most seasoned actors like a Glenn Close or a Robert De Niro, would have some problems improvising in that way where they could almost nearly improvise anything else.. Hank's isn't afraid to go against his training and just do what feels right where a lot of actors will always fall back on what they've been taught.. but of course I've only done drama in High School, so I don't claim to be an expert... I've just watched a crap ton of movies... But your point was well said...

Tom Hanks has been in the acting business for more than 30 years... Done both comedy and drama. With that two combinations, he can be quite versatile, though it seems he has become more of the latter, abit serious and selective on what role to take on, but then his comedy roots kicked in, and made David S. Pumpkins his own. Knowing that, made me more interested in his newly created character. "I'm David Pumpkins! And I'm gonna scare the Hell outta you!"

Lord no, although technically A League of Their Own was probably his first big dramatic role, it was “Philadelphia” that was his major breakout dramatic role, that cemented his status as a dramatic actor after all the (romantic) comedies. It was groundbreaking as it was just after the worst of the AIDS epidemic and when retrovirals were coming onstream, so HIV/AIDS stopped becoming an automatic death sentence. But the film, and Hanks, did a lot to develop public empathy for the disease and sufferers.

I understand not liking who got voted for, but we need to stop complaining about something we can't change, because people did the same shit with Obama and it's pretty tiresome to hear this sort of complaint "x isn't my president" ...well hate to break it to you but he/she is if you live in the USA where he/she governs. You can't simply impeach or deny Trump or anyone fairly elected the presidency, unless they do something very harmful or violates the law or the constitution, no matter how badly you want to rescind the people's democratic decision to elect trump as President of the USA. I stood in line after work at a polling place far from my house for hours till it got dark, because the place was packed. and I cast my vote decisively for Hillary, because she supported immigration policy that was not harmful to illegal immigrants and offered them a path to citizenship, but Trump got elected anyway. Am I super excited Trump got elected? No but I'm willing to see what his presidency will be like. We have four years of this guy and then he's most likely gone unless he gets a second term but you don't want people voting out of anger to not elect him. I want him to stand on his legacy as a leader and not because of his gender or his connections or his money; in the same way, if Hillary had been elected president, I wouldn't want a lot of negative comments about how she's not really president nor would I want to hear about the emails and her home computer every single time people talk about her presidency.
