Nope. Robert and Mikeys dad Big G told Mikey not to take the fight. Mikey was over his head. After the two first rounds it became a game of survival for Garcia. Spence was controlling the whole fight and was making Mikey eat that jab every round.

While there is a lot to admire about Garcia he was exposed in this matchup and boxing is about bettering your opponent in the ring by knockout or on points scored it doesn't matter how u got in the ring or how ppl feel about you, when you get in the ring with someone you have to make your skills count or settle for a moral victory because you bit.off more than you can chew. In terms of "real boxing fans" those would be the fans who were saying no Mikey not Errol Spence because it was obvious to them that it was a mountainous challenge but those that are just Mikey fans were saying things like he wins just for challenging Spence or by not getting knocked out. So be careful with the real boxing fan talk as a lot of us fail in that category.

@Horacio Cordova Dude Mikey himself said he saw something in Spence watching the Peterson fight and showed it to his fam and they saw it too. You should get your story straight. This is only Errol's 3rd title defense at 147 and he still needs to get other belts so lets not rush him into another division because you want to see him beat for working over your hero. He won't pull and Garcia. When he's ready for 154, he'll go and be competitive.

He asked for the fight and got schooled. He fought AB at 140. He went up one weight class. He's was dabbling between 135 and 140. He's a great fighter and I respect him but nobody forced him in there. He was saying he's better than Spence and he sees something in him that he can exploit. I respect Mickey Garcia for being a very honest and humble person. He accept his defeat with no excuses that gives him respect. He came from two or three lower weight classes just to fight Errol Spence Jr and give it a try. All the other boxers on Errols weight division didn't want to fight him.

Nothing but respect for Mikey Garcia. He challenged arguably the best welterweight right now and Truth be told, Errol let up at the end of the fight because it could've been stopped but Mikey kept fighting till the end. Errol did what he was supposed to do and if he fights Pacquiao he'll ko Pac-Man. Great fight between two elite fighters and in their prime.

Cero Z Spence said before the fight he wasn’t going for a ko only if it presents itself. He gave Mikey a “ boxing lesson” he wanted to show the world he was more then a bulldozer and that he can really box. Plus I believe he respected Mikey’s power and thought it was wise to box that way. IMO

MicroWavy Spence put down guys twice as big as Mikey so if anything it shows Mikey has heart but let’s be real it’s hard to knocked down someone when they’re in a shell and not punching. He just wanted to survive 12 just to say he did it.

Hi ;D. I'm one of those that was rooting for the underdog (well I saw Mikey as the underdog) but hey he did alright considering it was a 2 weightclass jump and lasted 12 rounds with the boogyman of the Welters. 24 wins 21 by KO Spence has always been a monster in this div. Mikey took a chance but now there's always going to be that shadow of doubt for Mikey* in this div.

Nobody wanted to fight him but Mikey💁🏾♂️ Crawford wanted Spence so bad but instead he took the Amir Khan fight🤔 Porter wanted Spence so bad but took the Ugas fight🤔 Thurman is just getting back in the swing of things. Danny Garcia is chillin. Crawford resigned with Bob Arum when he could’ve just signed to PBC it would’ve made the Spence vs Crawford fight so much easier.

I have trouble for Garcia. I know what it's like not being able to achieve a great thing when no one believes in you (not even the family), has relatives we want to bring them the greatest happiness, others we want to show that we are at the height of a legend of boxing. Psychologically it's going to be a big shock for him. Good luck Mikey Garcia (even though I'm a fan of Spence).

This fight was weird tbh and its sad because his family totally new of the risk and didnt want him to fight but you're not going to tell mikey what to do with his career the best thing they could've done was just to support him and they did that. But this was weird for me to watch i love mikey and we live 20 minutes from where mikeys dad is from in mexico. But this fight made no sense to me i love Errol and it just wasnt right for mikey to go in there and get embarrassed the way he did it hurts.

Spence was the better fighter, boxer and aggressor. I don’t think anyone in his division can fw him. He’s the pound for pound champ. Mikey was a undefeated 4 division champ. That’s why Spence is the best pound for pound.
