Nah Mikey an overrated pussy and an idiot for taking a fight in which he was a major underdog. Pretty Boy Floyd would have never taken such a fight. You think he'd fight GGG at a 154 catchweight back in 2012 or so when GGG could get down there? Hell no. Mikey Garcia was never as good as he was marketed as.

Benny Judah No doubt Mikey and him deserve all the respect. This fight would've never been made if any of the real top welterweights wanted to fight spence. The fight should've never happened, Mikey still has big fights at lightweight with Loma, Tank will eventually have to move up to lw, Teofimo should get a title shot this year or next.

Christian Patterson I thought there was know way he could win before the fight , being a Mikey fan I never wanted to see this fight and I definitely didn't want to see him Vs Cotto when he wanted that fight. Mikey can still dominate the lightweight division, and there's still some big fights there rn, there's not really any big fights at jr welterweight for him rn.

Mikey is one of the best technical boxers in the ring right now and this was a perfect fight for Spence to show that he is more than just a knockout artist. I've said that if Spence jr can't put away Mikey within 7 round, he officially fraud. Mikey has planned for this fight since Lomachenko move onto his neighborhood and declared belts unification. Mark my word, mikey has paid commey to wait for him so that he can redeem his IBF that he abandoned. I wish WBC took that green belt from him so that Teo.lopez and Lomachenko can fight for it.

Mad respect to Robert, and to Mikey for having a big heart. As I watch this fight I realize that Spence was trying to show off his lateral movement, his Jab, head movement, and just overall ring IQ to prove to the naysayers that he is the truth and can box as well. He was not hitting Mikey like he hits a lot of his opponents there was no anger in any of these punches just watching and you'll see what I'm talking about. This was a statement fight for Spence even when he went back into his locker room he said that he is going back to bulldozing people. A beat down he should have given him. You get a little guy move up, that shouldn't be making the move, is a no brainer for Spence. For Mikey to take a fight he had no business taking, and going the distance is an accomplishment. Spence not ending it himself, says something about him to. @@27rykou So what boxers and trainers do outside of the ring determines if they are the best in boxing or the best boxing family? I was just curious because i thought that you would look at their accomplishments in the ring and when i look at Mickeys record, he has many good wins but I cant find any great wins. A win over Spence would have been a great win considered that he jumped up two weight classes but I cant find a win on his record that would make him in my top 3 or maybe even top 5 pound4pound list. Look at his brother Robert he is a very good trainer but other than Mickey what other very good or good fighters has he accomplished greatness with? Before Mickey his most prominent fighter was Brando Rios. I would rate a boxer and a trainer for their accomplishment in the ring and not outside the ring. Other fighters have been considered great or the best even though problems outside the ring. But when it comes to "boxing family" thats a little difficult for me. Look at Canelo, he comes from a boxing family. He has one or two brothers that are active fighters and he has a great and significant win on his record (GGG) and other very good wins that makes up a better record and accomplishments thaN Mickey and Roberts trainer career IMO
@Khuyayn

And no i have not heard of any bad stuff about the Garcia family. I like that family. But like the other boxers Who had problems outside the ring i would probaly still see their fights if they had done something like that if they keep delivering good fights or fight against top fighters. I hate what Adonis Stevenson did in the past, but I still tuned in to see his fights because he was a top fighter and would deliver knockouts even though against non top fighters.

The saying is that "a good big man beats a good little man". There are times when a good little man beats a good big man, unfortunately Spence was a good big man and Mikey tried to be a good "little big man" instead of being a good little man. Mikey made a strategic mistake by bulking up too much, he should have stayed closer to is natural weight where he fights the best. The extra weight made him much slow and instead of being the faster little, he was slower than usual because he was not used to carrying that extra weight. I am not saying he would have beat Spence, but the fight would have been much more competitive if Mikey was closer to the same weight he was when he fought Robert Easter or Broner. When your strategy is based on being the faster guy with better timing you have to be the faster guy and in this fight Mikey was slower than Spence and Spence timing was also better. When an interviewer asked Manny Pacquiao what strategy Mikey should use to win the fight, said Mikey should not worry too much about how big Spence is and that Mikey should use SPEED to overcome the size and strength of Spence as he Manny used that same strategy when he came up two weight classes to fight Dela Hoya. The only thing that really surprised me in this fight is that Spence did not even come close to stopping Mikey or even hurting him, Spence punished him but he was unable to really hurt or stop him. Mikey was able to keep his composure and many of the shots were partially blocked by Mikey even though some got through. Some of the punches that got through by Spence would probably would have knocked out welterweights, Mikey is one tough S.O.B! P.S. In an interview Derrick James said that because of the punishment Mikey will never be the same. Personally I think that is just wishful thinking, I think Mikey will be much better after this fight. I don't think he really was ever hurt by Spence in this fight. It was not for lack of trying that Spence did not stop[ Mikey, he was just unable to stop Mikey and that says a lot about Mikey Garcia.

I think Mickey sent a message to ALL fighters. The best need to fight the best......honor the fighters of the past. The fight game is a gladiator sport... there's no room in this sport for champions to be avoiding champions....especially in the same weight classes. This political ducking game and hiding behind promoters and purses is hurting the sport. Why was he (Mickey) the only one willing to fight Spence????

Mercedes love Straight facts💯 Porter called out Spence but instead took the Ugas fight🤔 Crawford called out Spence but took the Amir Khan fight instead🤔 Keith Thurman is just getting back to action but something looks off with him. Danny Garcia seems semi-retired. Manny didn’t really look too excited about him vs Spence. Manny wanted that Mikey Garcia fight to happen. Spence next few fights will be Porter/Thurman/Crawford then he moves to 154.

Because back then they did it for the love of the sport for the honors and belts actually meant something these new fighters and generations do it for the money hype and fame everyone who's undefeated is scared to let there 0 go but in part it's also the fans and the sport cause once a fighter losses his 0 he's a bum or was a hype or doesn't get the same love back then it didn't matter matter a fact most of the greats had losses Ali Tyson Lenard sweet pea Chavez Duran Roy etc

Mikey sent a message? He didnt fight the best in his own division, He ducked Lomachenko. As far as ducking behind promoters Mikey is disillusion trying to dictate terms to Arum, Anyone with boxing IQ knew the results would been either landslide decision or brutal KO by Spence. Now he can hang on to the excuse he lost to a bigger man.

Fighthype comment section after Rigo didn’t land a punch on Loma for 6 rounds: Oh he’s small and moved up 2 weight classes it means nothing. Same with Kell vs GGG. GGG got zero credit from y’all. Fighthype comment section after Spence dominated Mikey: WOAH OFFICIALLY #1 WELTERWEIGHT, THAT WAS 100% SKILL, WEIGHT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, MIKEY IS EXPERIENCED IN ERROL’S DIVISION, HE ONLY MOVED UP 1, SINCE WHEN IS MOVING UP 2 WEIGHTCLASSES A MAJOR DISADVANTAGE Hmmmmmmm 🤔😉🤫

Mikey can't beat Thurman. Thurman creating a bad name for himself by dragging his feet but don't get it twisted. He still can box and bang at 147. 147 is still two weight classes up. He may not lose every round but Thurman will still win. Mikey and Loma is PPV at 135. Mikey can probably go undisputed at 135 and 140 but 147 is too much. Yes he can beat fighters up there but he should fight where he's at or 140 at least
