The Crochet Pretty Flowers Shawl has a very deep texture with a flower pattern created by fan shapes for upper and lower semi-circles. Once I understood the pattern, I repeated and is pretty easy and changed my mind from an intermediate level to an easy level.
The pattern starts with a scalloped edge. To keep the balance, the edging must be done in even numbers. Like 6, 8, 10 and more. The shawl itself has 18 scallops.
It's hard to see how deep the texture is in the real sample. Me, I was quite surprised by it.
The free pattern includes a crochet diagram to follow, which helps give visual cues on where the stitches go.

I always love all your videos, but I particularly love the”Dora the explorer” vibe of you asking us “what comes next?” I find myself saying it out loud so it really sticks in my brain! Thank you Mikey! This was a pattern I could not understand in the written format so I appreciate this video!

Mikey, I began working this pattern before seeing you put out a video. I wanted more of a scarf width, so I tried several combinations, and found that you get the best result with a multiple of 6 clusters in the foundation row. So either 6, 12, 18 and so on... anything in between, 8, 10 and so on, needs a lot of fiddling with the pattern on the edges. It is a gorgeous pattern and creates a squishy and beautiful piece. I didn't watch the entire video, so you might have mentioned this further into it, so my apologies if you did.

I did a triangular shawl with this stitch and loved it. I’ve been looking for a stitch for a rectangular wrap and I think this might be the one. Thank you!

Before starting, if you read the Yarnspirations pattern abbreviations (which this project is based on), you will notice that all the Tr togethers end with a Ch1. This video does not do that. How will this affect the final shawl?

Does anyone know if this pattern of stitches is a yarn hog ? 😁 I am thinking of using it for a blanket
@Feisdancer
@Feisdancer Жыл бұрын
The post stitches will definitely eat more yarn than some stitches but the height of the trebles should help balance that out. I would figure out how big of a blanket you want to make and then use the ratio of yards: area from the pattern to determine how much yarn you would need for your size of blanket and see if it’s worth it. It’s not going to be perfect, but it’s an estimate.
