Mikhail Lomtadze released a video statement about the coronavirus emergency announced in the country on March 18, 2020. The head of Kaspi.kz announced deferral of payments for clients in temporary financial distress and launch of a customer support program.
Later, in line with the President’s instruction, Kaspi.kz team - as part of the working group led by the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market - together with the Financial Institutions’ Association of Kazakhstan and other banks worked hard on increasing availability of payment deferrals. On March 27, Mikhail Lomtadze announced the following improvements:
• deferment of monthly payments was extended from 2 to 3 months;
• deferment is available to the clients who took out loans or buy-now-pay-later offers or joined Kaspi Red before March 18 and are experiencing temporary financial difficulties.
A convenient online service for applying for such deferments will be available starting April 2 in Kaspi.kz mobile app, so clients won’t have to step out of home.
