She’s still nonverbal as she’s unable to communicate fully using speech. A lot of her communication relies on context clues.

@@magsmcgarrigle981 I’ve been watching since then. I didn’t say she isn’t making great improvements. I’m just sharing the fact that she still is nonverbal. I’m an RBT. I work with kiddos with similar challenges everyday. It’s not an insult to say she is nonverbal.

She is ❤ she’s been talking for a while but the label autistic and nonverbal gets lots of clicks. I’ve taught special ed - she is delayed but she’s neither autistic or nonverbal

she can be doing both at the same time. she's mimicking all the noises her mum makes, and it just happens that her doing that means she said the alphabet

Some are accurate but most of it is her just copying the noise her mom makes which is mimicking, either way she does amazing

My non-autistic daughter is 8 days older than Mikko and has a severe speech delay (yes, we've been in therapy most of her life), and Mikko said a LOT of the letters more clearly than my girl at this point!

She’s still non verbal. A lot of non verbal people can mimic and say a few words. They can’t form sentences and alot of times don’t know the meaning of words they mimic

She's not nonverbal. She's just taking as much time as she is comfortable with. My own autistic son didn't want to talk until he could do it in sentences. He was a born perfectionist who refused help. BTW, she's totally beautiful and perfect and you're an amazing mom!

Keep it going family! What a beautiful girl!! What a testimony you’re writing for this young lady! Kudos to you all! I work with autistic people of all ages. No two are alike even if they’re twins. That was amazing! Every letter sounded different; you could tell she was trying to make different sounds, even when think the letters were similar (like M & N). And even her saying the word "Alphabet" at the start was very clear. I'm so proud of her 🥹

I remember how happy i was when my (currently 4 year old) nephew, who is also nonverbal+autistic, said the alphabet! My nephew can now count to 20 and ssy the alphabet! Im so proud of my nephew :)))

Mikko has made *TREMENDOUS* strides.😊 I remember those hair day videos and how it was fair from easy for mom to brush Mikko's hair and how Mikko wouldn't make eye contact. And look at her now. Won't GOD do it!!!
