Welcome back to this feature on Tech Defense Channel, This feature discusses the Mikoyan MiG-35 ( Strike fighter aircraft ).
What is perhaps most notable about the MiG-35 is that it is the first fighter outside the heavy weight range, as well as the first MiG fighter, to enter Russian service since the 1980s.

I have always liked the canopies of the more modern migs. The way they're designed, you have a wide field of vision, especially downward, which significantly helps when engaging ground targets with guns or rockets. If you don't understand what I mean, you can see how the canopy angles downward, with a slope of the nose, thus increasing the downward angle of your vision.

Mah 2.2 slow ,has 8 hard points, twice smaller than SU27 multilroll fighter that can do anything for a price that's 3 times less! Btw,Proven platform that, just like F15 EX, or F16 blocks and Super Hornets was built on Mig29 chase! The only reason why it doesn't sell is NATO pressure with sanctions, just like they tried with S400,but S400 was so superior that even NATO countries took the risk of being sanctioned!

@@fatdaddy1996 It's marginally cheaper and smaller isn't meaningful unless you are going for low observable design, having a cheaper design that offers no new capability is pointless. It comes across as a charity project to keep the Mikoyan brand afloat.

No The Russians stopped selling it to the countries that are NOT BRICS Members including Ukraine. Ukraine is NATO. so why the hell would Putin sell Russian weapons to Zelensky? Besides that Ukraine is broke they got no money Zelensky is begging money to Washington DC.

In capabilities the 29 is similar to the F16, in some respects the 29 is better, in others the 16 might be a little bit better, they are similar overall. But what I like with the soviet aircraft is not only their designs which are awesome, but they are realistically designed to do what they are supposed to. It does not matter if the weather is awful and the 16 cannot take off. This will. It does not matter if your runway has been bombed and the 16 cannot take off due to too much dust lol. This will, and it will take off from a just made makeshift field. The american aircraft are built in a way as if not even dust will get to them, while the russian aircraft are build realistically, as if all hell broke loose and you still need to take off. Then, it's the over-reliance on electronics on the American aircraft. And sometimes, totally BS useless electronics, like sure the defence suit of electronics and all on the American aircraft might look superior on paper, while in this it might be more simplistic, in truth, I think this one is better. You do not overly rely on them, they are kinda basic as they should, in a real scenario, you'd might get the most basic of warnings if you are lucky. Teaching someone to rely on BS won't help them imho. No, no matter how much sophisticated is your American warning system you will not be warned on a missile launch, you might not even get a radar warning, in a real shtf, you might only get something if you're lucky or just about to die. And this is how the Russians have treated those systems. As for dogfight ability of aircrafts, again, the US thinks this is not needed anymore, obviously no-one wants a shtf where they will find out how wrong they are. The brand new F117 "stealth" in Serbia, found out. Yeah, yeah, it was a lucky shot by some Serbians... LOL you might wanna think again. Stealth is BS. Useful to a small degree probably, it's a mistake to rely on it. Again, I don't mind the Americans believing their BS or advertising how invincible they are or how they would high score anyone, as long as they don't fuck around any more with poor people all over the planet. Cause if they over do it, they might find out a ton of stuff they are wrong about, and the 29 is certainly no joke. Let alone all the rest.

Only 6 in service was built in 2016 - F22 180 in service F35 about 1000 built and flying last update Jan 18, 2024

It came out too late, in the era of stealth, 4 gen is becoming obsolete. Moreover, f16Vs already dominated the market tor 4 gen light multirole platforms, so it would be extremely difficult for russians to sell it. Even russian air force is reluctant in obtaining a large numbers

Dude many BRICS nations are buying Russian Fighter Jets rather than buying NATO jets. At least when you buy Russians they're always brand new, Zero flight hours they come from straight to the factory in Russia. And the US and NATO F-16's are much more expensive than the Russians The Mig 35 and The SU-35 only cost 50 Million Dollars compare to F-16 that cost 70 to 80 Million Dollars each. And IF you are a BRICS Members then you can have some discounts and good deals.

@@user-kg6vh9ye3s some of the BRICS countries: India: Rafale won against su-35, mig-35 China: they have their own aircraft industry Brasil: european JAS-39E South Africa: european JAS-39C random other countries where russia have some influence: Argentina: poor country that still opted for used F16s rather than new mig russian fighters Morocco: they're using F16s, some talks about acquiring F35 Egypt: F16s, Rafale, Mirages etc so which exacly countries that we're talking about, bought - say russian Mig-35 instead F16 or F35? 🙂 in majority of cases where russian mig's (or suhois) competed against F16/F35/Rafale, the later was almost always a clear winner

It’s because the AESA radar that was suppose to go with it has had development problems. Russia only ordered 24. Without more export orders, there’s no way that the MiG-35 will ever finish development.

@@nikitakhrushchev.4602 Na toto netreba byť pilotom. Do vývoja Mig-35 bola zainteresovaná aj India, tá ale z projektu vystúpila a neskôr po vypísaní súťaže nakúpila americké F16. Rusi si od Mig35 veľa sľubovali, doteraz však nepredali ani jeden jediný kus. Obdobne je to aj s SU-57, rusi čakali, že objednávky sa im budú len tak hrnúť, ale SU-57 nechce tiež nik kúpiť. A preto aj SU-57 doteraz nelieta na Ukrajine, pretože rusi stále dúfajú v jeho predaj, ale v prípade jeho zostrelenia by padli všetky nádeje, že by ho niekto kúpil.

The mig 35 is basically not a separate aircraft but an upgraded mig 29. Its like the f 15 (mig 29) and f 15E (mig 35). Russia sells the base model to countries and then the license as well, the other countries then upgrades it to their needs. For example, the Russian su 35 and Chinese j 16 is basically based on the same plane, su 27. The Russians then modified it for their needs into su 35 while the Chinese upgraded it and named it j 16
