Mikrotik LHGG LTE6 kit is a 4G modem that should deliver High-Speed Internet in the middle of Nowhere. This awesome new toy was send all the way from Australia, by Scooty B. who have seen my struggles with "Good" Internet in my house in Portugal, in previous videos.

For 3$ a month, you get an extra weekly "What's UP" update video. Just for my Patrons. The Support I resave on patreon is all used on stuff to make interesting videos on KZfaq.
My PlayHouse is a channel where i will show, what i am working on. I have this house, it is 168 Square Meters / 1808.3ft² and it is full, of half-finished projects.
I love working with heating, insulation, Servers, computers, Datacenter, green power, alternative energy, solar, wind and more. It all costs, but I'm trying to get the most out of my money, and my time.

Merry Christmas Morten, there definitely is a steep learning curve with the Mikrotik router OS to get the most out of it, first step would be to find out what channels Vodafone Portugal uses and if they use carrier aggregation. I can see lots of googling ahead for this one but the forums seem to have most problems covered. The connector is a tool-less field connector, you only ned a pair of pliers to make your connection and its reusable. The guitar pick was to pry open the cover for the cat5 lead but you managed to feed it through without having to take that bit off, so no problem. Hope you have fun with your new toy, and if all else fails you can just tape your pocket modem to the dish focal point .👍

Thank you again for this awesome gift,, I was so happy that I managed to get it working, before I had to leave for home (it was to close) User "Jo Cool" send me a map of cell towers in Portugal, and the closest one is just 1,5km on the other side of my mountain. It would make good video putting it up there and have 250 meter fiber going to the house,, but also a lot of work :-/ But I think I will mount a pole up there, try and mount it and bring my laptop. To a start.

i have the same antenna and i am able to get 100Mbps down / 30 Mbps up with 10km distance to cell tower. You have to do few things: 1) check on some map the location of cell towers in your area (for your operator of course), then 2) find place where to mount the antenna outside and 3) check which bands operator is using. you have the option to choose particular band (or group of bands) in case your operator supports CA. you may be in a situation where antenna is connecting to the strongest signal, but on that bands 8, 20 (e.g. 800, 900MHz) there might be only 5-10MHz channel. Then check other bands 1, 3, 7 (e.g. 1800, 2100, 2600MHz), which should have much higher bandwidth (e.g. 15-20MHz).

Well, you have the LHG and not the LHGG kit. Secondly i have the LHGG LTE6 version and what ive learned using it is that youll need a really-really good LOS (Line of Sight) with the cell tower. Carrier Aggregation will do work with the unit as long as there are multiple cell towers in range. But CA will not help a lot as this kit comes with a unidirectional antenna. I switched btw to the Chateau 5g with Poynting antennas (i modified the chateau 5g). If you wish, thanks for the Router OS, you can enable IP passtrough and you can use your own router. BUT! Make a VLAN on the LHG and enable DHCP Client on it, make a VLAN on your own routers WAN interface and enable DHCP server, that way you can always connect to your modem nad you dont have to do double natting. Lastly i had some issues with my LHGG unit, and not sure if it is caused by the unit or the carrier but i had to restart my device using a script. If you ever encounter the same, sudden performance issues (higher latency + slow download and or upload speeds) just restart the LHG and everythings going to be alright again. What ive done is i wrote a script to reboot the unit every single night when everyone is sleeping. Solved my problems.

The Mikrotik LHGG LTE6 CPE is powered through 24V passive PoE. Normally, it will include a PoE injector and a power supply (RBGPOE and 18POW or 24HPOW). Also, since it is an outdoor device, I recommend an Ethernet surge protection device like the Mikrotik GESP or the GESP+PoE-IN (PoE injector with surge protection).

LTE6 is that designate CAT 6 carrier aggregation? If it is Carrier aggregation version 6 then it will bond 10 or 20 Mhz segments each of two bands and you'll get maybe speeds of 45 to 50 megabit per second or more, the latest is CAT 20 and CAT 21 which will support the bonding of five bands getting you up in the range of around 800 Mbps all depending on the signal quality, strength, cell site congestion and permissions to allow you the use of that many segments of bandwidth to achieve that speed.
