Due to surgery many years ago, I'm not required to mikveh ---- but I did have to, when I converted. It was the most traumatic experience, and I just cried and cried while watching your video to realise how much of a special experience I missed out on.

You’re 100% correct… after immersing in the Mikvah, it truly is a feeling of rebirth. The complete peace which follows immersion is the most wonderful feeling. Thanks for sharing a tour of your local Mikvah! 😃

So happy you enjoyed! Great question. I took my mom to the mikveh a couple years ago, it was incredibly special. Let me know if this answers your question and also to reach out to a local othrthdox Rabbi or Rebbetzin to see where you can go to a mikveh ____________ Voluntary Immersion Some women specifically miss the experience of immersing in the mikveh. It is permissible for a married woman to use the mikveh even if she is not halachically obligated to do so. Thus, she may visit the mikveh voluntarily. If a woman was not niddah (menopause or clean for 7 days) and is immersing voluntarily, she does not need to perform all of the preparations. She does not recite a bracha upon immersion, but may recite other prayers after immersion. An especially appropriate time to visit the mikveh may be on erev Yom Kippur. In many communities, the custom to immerse on that day includes both single and married women, as well as men (one should check ahead of time about hours and arrangements). This immersion is for spiritual purification and is not halachically required. Therefore, one does not need to prepare and does not recite a bracha.

Hi Leah, I have a question. Could you make a video about "The tree of knowledge of good and evil" and what it all means? I'd love to hear you & your husband's perspective, since I think you both know a lot more than I do. I'm curious what God meant about this.

Can I ask does the same rule apply to say a teenager when she first starts her period and cycle does she have to go to a mikvah also thanks for sharing
@JewGotit
@JewGotit 11 ай бұрын
Rachael good question thanks for asking! Niddah is a commandment and ritual around a married woman's monthly cycle. So if you’re not married you don’t have to go to mikveh. When I was not married and in my 20s I had a Rabbi say it’d be a good idea to go to the mikveh before Rosh Hashana to feel good and rejuvenate. Women used to get married younger, so they had less heavy energy on them. So I was told this will help me cleanse this. I went with a friend it was special. But not as special as it is being married and doing the mitzvah. Also I think if someone has an illness, Gd forbid, and they don’t go to the mikveh, my intuition tells me it’d be healing for their body mind and soul. Also my mother never went to the mikveh, I took her a couple years ago, it was extremely special and emotional. If you go later in life, spiritually it’s like you went all the times you were supposed to, Gd is happy you fulfilled what’s good for us. Let me know if you have any other questions. Many blessings to you!

What a beautiful world it would be without religion!
@JewGotit
@JewGotit 3 күн бұрын
You know there’s no such thing as religion? There was only after everyone made lots of ‘religions’ up. The only person that calls the Jewish people a religion in the Torah/bible is Haman, the man who wanted to kill all the Jews. What was supposed to be in the world, people would follow Gds morals, spiritual traditions and connect our daily lives to meaning, connective and peace. As you can see, we have all strayed, we all have different ‘religions’ and most of the world hates the Jews and each other. We sit in computers/phones all day and say how horrible we all are and how much we disagree. What a mess, but things will get better, this I know.

Fascinating! I'm not religious but I always feel a peace in water, especially the sea. So during the time how aren't intimate, can you talk about sex? I'm guessing self-satisfaction is forbidden? What happens if you have spotting mid-cycle? What about if you have long periods but short cycles, so you're past your fertile window by the time you can have sex again? What happens during perimenopause when a woman's cycles become less regular? What about in full menopause, does she still have to seperate? Do older post-menopause couples share a bed all the time? What happens if the mikvah night falls on shabbat, can you still go, or is it closed? I hope it's okay to ask so much! Thank you

After menopause do women still go to the Mikva?
@JewGotit

Shalom ! Great question. More in-depth answer below, but if a Jewish women is in menopause age, she can go one more time for purification. My mother never went her whole life, I took her once when she was older, and now she is good and it’s like she went her whole life, spiritually and halachic speaking. www.chabad.org/theJewishWoman/article_cdo/aid/653734/jewish/Does-a-post-menopausal-woman-go-to-mikvah.htm

@JewGotit

Yes at night I think when 3 stars are out. Well you have to bath that could take 30 mins or more, then going to mikveh (also can bath at mikveh or home) then I dunk in mikveh and go home. Could take 1 hour or a little more. I’m pretty fast doing things, can take 1-2 hours in total
