Күн бұрынIn this video, I remove the muffler on the 2.slow Golf and man oh man does it sound sweet!!! The backfire from the exhaust is unreal. I should get a clip of this thing revving at night time, and see if it spits flames!!

Hey I have a question, could you go into detail the difference in sound between removing the muffler without welding a pipe, and welding a pipe in place of the muffler? I'm currently about 4 months in without a muffler but no pipe welded in no problems and I want to know if it sounds better with the exhaust reaching all the way out to the back of the car

It’s more convenient. Trust me. Someone stole my cat and I was already planning on straight piping it lmao00 So I just drove it with a hole in my car back system and surprisingly a lot of people liked it. Little do I know I could’ve killed myself from the fumes bing right under me.

As a 4 year motorcycle mechanic apprentice, (no resinator, catalict converter), changing the backpressure changes the airflow. Changes the gas to air ratio. A muffler delete would richen the mixture, causing carbon build up in the chambers (check your spark plugs after 60 miles). Mpg would drop because excess fuel is being combusted. On motorcycles if you were to change your exhaust or run straight pipes you burn so rich you backfire and sometimes blow black smoke. You would feel performance loss at any rpm. So for the new exhaust you would need to either remap your EFI, add a fuel pack, or most cases older than 2000 rejet your carb(s). I'm not sure if this theory applies to car exhausts because they probably have smarter EFI or the rest of the exhaust system fixes it. But because I grew up on bikes and only just bought my first car, I don't like backfires to me they mean trouble

Nope, muffler doesn’t affect it at all on cars, barely any change. Remove the CATs and now your losing a lot of back pressure, muffler however? Aren’t very responsible for that

I’m not a mechanic or have car knowledge but saying that a muffler delete causes damage to the engine is insane💀💀 I took the cat off my ram and nothing happened, I wish I didn’t take it off now because there’s no difference but I’m still going to get an exhaust soon

I did the same operation on my 2001 mk4 1.4 golf and I am amazed. It has rally car sound without being too noisy and has incredible sound when RPM drops. Everyone smacks appreciatively and makes compliment :D

Justice no it's. running rich the pipes. are hot. as it. runs lean a little gas Burns up. and when it Burns. in low. pressure it. makes. that sound if. you have a catalytic converter it shouldn't make. that sound so it's. not. good. but. super cars are. supposed to. no problem nothing to really worry about.

Straight pipe is eveything removed. No muffler, no resonator, no cat, all delete. From the extractor, all piping straight to the back. If it's a turbocharged car, from the exhaust outlet, all piping straight to the back.

A muffler isn't just for sound. It's also used for scavenging. Essentially creating hot spots in the exhaust system and using this heat to draw exhaust gases away from the combustion chamber. It does in fact have an effect on your engine.

@@syrus1233 Good. Scavenging is what “pulls” the exhaust gases from the combustion chamber. Mind you, that isn’t its sole purpose of the muffler, obviously. There are probably better ways to explain it, but that essentially the answer.

I think it will since there won't be a check engine light but it will obviously fail a state inspection.

8:10 Actually, removing the muffler reduces the back pressure (exhaust pushing back into the engine), thus helping engine respiration and adding a few horses. Not many, but a few.

If you want your sidesteps to last, you should use stands on proper places, not just the side. Time after time and you end up with warped metal.

Yes I got a j37 Acura TL and did the muffler delete only thing I would do is weld a pipe on and stick it about an inch to 2 out from the bumper to reduce drone noise in the cabin my cabin noise is ridiculous

Nothing performance, however you will notice more noise than normal.

+DementedTyler muffler has nothing to do with emissions, it is what it says it is, something to muffle sound and an exhaust with no muffler will pass emissions test fine. Catalytic converter has all to do with emissions.

I know i hate that term ricer.... Its like people learn a new word and use it all the time if they dont like a particular mod. Grow up dude. A ricer would put on a fake blow off valve or a turbo whistler on the tip of the muffler. Go watch mighty car mods and watch the episode where they rice up a car then you might learn something. Its like oh you painted your calibers red.. RED!!! YOUR A RICER!!!! Lol go get laid kid we like our mods and hey i like chinese rice too

jitse feenstra not really. I take rice as adding something to your car to make it seem faster or to make it sound like something it's not. He isn't adding fake mods or anything he's not even really trying to make it sound like something it's not. He's simply removing a muffler and letting the car make some noise that is not rice. He didn't add a fart cannon or anything so how is it rice? He never claimed it made the car faster or anything.
