Florida is known for the best roads in the country. People are really nice there too and every place I've been has no negatives about it. Traffic is still bad even in Florida as it is now bigger than new york

The roads may be built better but they are not managed better. I-4 is one of the scariest drives ever. The two deadliest stretches of road in the U.S. are I-4 and US 19 in central Florida. Dangerous drivers going 40+ mph over the speed limit, driving over medians and curbs, passing within inches of other traffic are enough to make a preacher curse.

@@w-josh Ya!! In Ohio, we actually have a lot of very similar bridge sounds compared to Florida. Only difference here is the speed which you have to be traveling at to get a certain pitch. It’s about 10 mph lower in Ohio. To get a similar pitch to this in Ohio, you have to be going 68 mph where in Florida, you have to be going 78 mph to get the same pitch.

@@gagejohnson3778 I'm actually familiar with Ohio's road sounds too. A Florida-like sound can be heard there, the Pittsburgh sound can be heard, Tennessee can be heard, and Maryland can be heard. The California Sound also can be heard, due to new longitudinal grooving.

@@gagejohnson3778 My favorite Florida bridges sounds 1.The ones on The Selmon Expressway in Tampa, FL 2. The ones on I-95 in Jacksonville, FL 3. 4 bridges on I-95 near and at the I-95/I-195/FL-112 interchange. 4. I-4 in Tampa, FL 5. I-4 in Orlando, FL

There always seems to be at least 2 accidents on the 4.

This dreaded section is, with no exaggeration, ALWAYS like this on both sides. What you saw eastbound is typical any time of day or night. Frankly I am surprised Mike got out of it going westbound so quickly. There are electronic signs to tell you how far and how long to points ahead, and often it will say that an intersection that is 9 miles ahead is 53-58 minutes. The intersection with 27, through to Championsgate is the worst mess in the state, due to explosive population growth, with the building of massive developments of hundreds/thousands of houses/condo complexes, etc, without addressing this section of I4.

@@JaniceStewart863Also makes it worse that that area is near the FL 429 interchange (which needs more lanes on some of the ramps) and all the interchanges for Disney World parks.

Kind of surprising that Florida doesn’t have any plans to expand it to 4 lanes on each side. It’s desperately needed.

@@MileageMikeTravels I've always believed that the state should interstate Highway 60 from Lake Wales to I-75 with a bypass around Brandon. It could feed into the Selmon, I-4 at some point and then 75 North and South. It would be a huge undertaking but would divert a lot of traffic from I-4 between Polk and Tampa. The same could be done with Highway 27, Orlando to Lake Wales.

@@MileageMikeTravels They actually do have plans to extend the express lanes 20 miles on the northern end, and 20 miles on the southern end of the I-4 Ultimate project. This pretty much applies to any 70mph freeway. But regardless of the speed, you need to merge all the way to the right thru lane once you complete your pass. Of course this excludes times when you need to do maneuvers such as left exits and other things like that.

Maybe because of how nice the bridge piers are and there are pillars on the side of bridges that have carvings in them
