What I still don't get is that if people didn't know who Spider-Man was, how were there already comic books about him including about his origin?

Peter's name in these comics is Billy Barker. He probably wanted people to know how he got his powers and all. But he never gave away his identity.

These comics are labled "True Life Tales Of Spiderman" and thus they clearly are there as a visual retelling of some of this universes Spiderman's most daring and crazy moments and probably also telling his origin from what little of this backstory Spiderman himself has revealed and or an imagined origin for the guy. I mean we clearly see that the depicted Spiderman has brown hair though we know for a fact that this Peter has blonde hair so I imagine that this shown backstory is an interpretation.
