I love how the Ultimate Universe ended twice. Once by Hickman, and once by Bendis because Bendis was like “I brought the Ultimate Universe into the world! I’ll be the one to take it out!”

its really not though, especially when you look at the sales numbers for some of his issues. Marvel is still a business, they're not about to give the middle finger to their biggest demographic. there's a reason Miles will never sell better than Peter and its not simply because people dont like him. people like you don't realise that out of all the Spider-Man movies that have released since Raimi, Into the Spider-verse actually made the least money... and that make things worse for people like you, it was Marvel relying on a story of Peters to push Miles into the mainstream, meaning they didnt even have faith in their own stories for Miles to use them instead.

I dont like or dislike him in truth ive never read anything of his own comics. I have read lots with him in the or the odd cross over issue. But to me peter parker is spiderman and i think miles is a bit superfluous. Again i do not hate him or even dis like him i just dont really like him either he is just another character to me no more relevant than ben Riley i liked kaine more tbh honest.

@@thatboymeak wow, I didn’t know this. If that is true then people need to get off their high horse because Enter the Spider-verse is the best Spider-Man movie sense SM2. People who didn’t see it are missing out. If they rereleased it in theaters today I’d be at a theater w/popcorn in hand even though I already own the 4k disk.

Miles is the most luckiest Spider hero in Marvel. He saved the multiverse, have his families back and was the first Earthling Knull himself contacted & survived.

@@DeuceAce-91 His suffering has nothing to do with race and can't even be related. Fate literally warps itself to make him miserable. His parents died, his uncle died in front of him. He couldn't save his first love and never got over her. Before she died Gwen went and had a one-night-stand with NORMAN OSBOURN AND GOT PREGNANT FROM IT. MJ was on and off with him constantly. They got married just for Mephisto to erase it and just now left him for some schmuck named Paul. At least 616 Pete gets a break at 39 ala Across The Spider-Verse.

In the Spider-Men comics, the tear in reality wasn't made by Vulture; it was made my Mysterio from the 616 universe. He went to the ultimate universe thinking it'd be easier with no Peter Parker.

Thanks for breaking this down in this fashion, Rob. I made the mistake of reading JUST the main Secret Wars issues when it came out in '15, and I found it to be jumbled and not exactly "filling", for lack of a better word. Hearing it explained in this fashion fills in a ton of gaps and makes the story feel more complete. I appreciate the effort here!

The version of Secret Wars I liked best was from the Spider-Man cartoon, where The Beyonder created Battleworld to test out good vs evil, and rather than Doom taking his powers, The Beyonder simply allowed him to take a tiny fraction of his power, just to see if the heroes could still prevail.

His comics got way better after Bendis left. While there are a lot of things I don't agree with in the Saladin run, it was a good step in the right direction for Comic Miles and Ziglar is just killing it as Miles's new writer right now!

Miles got his mother back because he gave the molecule man (owen) a cheeseburger. Lol he was trapped by doom for God knows how long, and when Miles and peter walked into his prison, he asked for food. So Miles pulls out an old cheeseburger from his pocket lmao. Molecule man ate it and was satisfied and helped them along the way; hence is why his mom is back! Just saving y'all some time

I don’t care what anyone says, God King Doom is the most badass villain I’ve ever read in comics. I just loved his presence in the Secret Wars storyline and how he totally wrecks Thanos, Black Panther with the Infinity Gauntlet, and Phoenix Force Cyclops. I know there are technically more powerful entities in Marvel Comics but I don’t care. GOD KING DOOM. Yeah…that’s my guy! 😁

I love this story and huge fan of all your coverage of Hickmans stuff. Pretty sure that all the Fantastic Four people are the original's with just their memory wiped like everyone else's and not from some other reality. Part of Doom's vanity was to have the "real" Susan Storm as another insult to his version of Reed Richards. Also Cheeseburger.

Miles wouldn’t stand a real chance against them. The only reason Peter could do it is because he had YEARS of experience as being Spider-Man and knew his limits and how to beat them. Miles has nowhere even close to the time in suit or the experience level to come close to accomplish that feat. I hate when comic writers do this kinda stuff just to try and place miles on the same plane as Peter

Wasn't there a part where Miles and Peter met the Molecule Man in a white void? Molecule-Man told them he was the generator or something, he was also hungry and miles had a burger in his back pocket gave it to him and Molecule was happy? this is also why Uncle Aaron was back.
