It’s not like they didn’t want to see him. Gwen went to see him as soon as she got a green light to go to his dimension.

They really went into this movie like "you know what all these spider-men need? Severe depression."

2 reasons that could explain why they couldn’t visit Miles. 1. Miguel O Hara 2. They can’t face him after knowing that he’s not meant to be spiderman and his dad going to die because of it. Tbh I dont blame any of them.

If we see it from Miles perspective it does seem painful for him , because in Into the spider verse we can see hoe Miles had to shoulder a lot of guilt and responsibility from the beginning after the death of Peter in his universe. He was scared whether he could become a spiderman and was still confused , and then he met Gwen and Peter. Now he must have been relieved because he knew he was not alone and even when he wasn't ready he stepped up and took that leap of faith to send everyone back to their universes. And in Across the spiderverse we can see how much Miles have grown but still in his mind he missed his friends especially Gwen and Peter. We can see in his sketchbook just how many times he have drawn Gwen , just shows how much he missed them . He even chose to study AP Physics just to find a way to see his friends again . But then in Across the Spider-verse we see that they could have met him anytime with their watches and yet they didnt , they also didnt said anything about him being a Anomaly or about his canon events, for Miles it must have felt like they purposefully avoided him and that must have felt terrible for Miles , he felt like his friends who he missed and yearned for all this time betrayed him. But as audience we can see a different perspective . When Gwen first saw Miguel and his watch the first question was 'can you go to any dimension with that watch' , i mean if not for meeting Miles why would she need a dimensional travelling watch ? And again we can see that when she was on a mission to surveil and capture the Spot , even when Gwen was on orders to not meet Miles she went to Miles , told him about The spider-society and even spent time with him , she mist have missed him as much as Miles missed her inorder for her to do this. And it must have been even more painful for her when she said that she would never meet Miles again. Because after the death of Peter in Gwen's dimension she closed herself off completely and had no friends , in Both ITSV and ATSV we can see that Miles is friend that Gwen made after Peter and he has a special place in her heart. The reason because bothe Gwen and Peter avoided contacting Miles was for his own good. Because they knew he was an Anomaly and if they contacted hime it would only create more trouble for him. Yet Gwen and Peter tried her best to protect Miles and to make him understand. Even when Gwen was send back to her universe the first thing she did was to check if she could use the watch . And after that she went back to her home only to pickup a photo of her with Miles. She also resolved her misunderstandings with her father and realised that Miles was right about canon events. She also went to meet Miles parents , and told them how much Miles loves them and promised them she would find him. She was even able to sense that Miles was in another dimension and he was in danger , just shows thag they are literally soulmates. She also made a group to go and rescue Miles. Its all about perspective , Gwen and Peter had their own reasons but they cared and loved Miles in their own ways.

Gwen’s love for him is so strong she can even sense Miles in danger while being in another universe

Gwen risked the fate of the multiverse just to have a date with him. This is only from Miles Perspective atm

Come on. Gwen and Peter could NOT have visited Miles without getting into serious trouble with Miguel... This is why once Gwen had the perfect opportunity to secretly visit him, she seized it.

After processing it and seeing how strict of a leader Miguel is, I can’t blame them for not visiting him. Like, Imagine if you knew that your best friends family was about to die. You knew exactly when and how, but you couldn’t tell him because it would potentially destroy everything. I wouldn’t be able to face Miles either if I knew

miles has always been an easy character to sympathize with

Really sick of people criticising Gwen especially. Like she risked the multiverse and the wrath of Miguel just to go and see Miles as son as she could. She told him about the Spider Society even when she was told not to and when she found out that Canon events can be broken without major consequences, she reached out and put together a team to save Miles, even when she thinks he's mad at her and doesn't want to see her again.

A physics career is only something to pursue if you actually are interested in it, because otherwise, it starts to get messy.

I can relate to Miles. For the past 3 years I wanted to get out of my state and be out with my real homies in New York. Then I realized they *_wanted_* to see me but they *_didn't_* really have the time to. They knew I had years of childhood trauma and drama to actually start something and stick to the thing that'll make me happy. It's insane how much we grew up since then! I've got new paths now, yes, but Across the Spider-Verse really struck at some heart strings. Gwen's gone through a lot too let's not forget her own Dad tried to kill her. Later on when Hobie helps Miles, quits, then leaves the Gizmo watch to Lieutenant Stacy. When Gwen returns home... They finally have that Father/Daughter relationship. Yes, Gwen pretty much kept a huge secret from her, but it was her *_responsibility_* to protect her loved ones as the Ghost Spider. Just like any Spider-Man. Even Peter B. Parker wanted to tell Miles, but then his own kid would've been put in jeopardy. I feel like I want Miguel to have a GOOD POINT and yet I also want him to be wrong about Miles. The Spot is the true Anomaly. He's gotten so strong that he's able to travel through "SPACE AND TIME" so I wouldn't be surprised if the Spot's behind the Canon Events too. Like... LET MILES JUST DO HIS OWN THING! Even the Secret Wars comics touched on this and wrapped up the Multi-verse perfectly. Hopefully Secret Wars in the MCU knows how to write about the Spider-Verse too. Miles just needs some looove. HE NEEDS TO BE ABLE TO DO HIS OWN THING BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT MAKES *_HIM_* SPIDER-MAN LESGO!

And now he will be an anti hero in Beyond the Spider Verse because of everything he's been through and what he will be in through. Idk let's just see how the story goes and who it's focused on :)

It's like no one sees Gwen's side.. Yes, she goes to see Miles right away once she gets the job to take out the Spot. A: She obviously wanted to see him. B: She lost her own world and gained new friends but they weren't Miles. C: She learned about her feelings and saw every bad ending if she fell in love with him. D: She knows about Canon events which she fears but let's Miles break them right before her eyes. E: She got in trouble for not stopping Miles and lost all her new family (spider society). F: She then learned that her dad isn't a captain anymore so she won't lose her dad and chooses to help Miles to save his.

That’s what made this movie so good. The depth. The emotional attachment to the characters. This is hands down the best comic/superhero film made to me. It’s not a knock on the others but it’s just the best to me along with into the Spiderverse

As a techie AND an artist, I had to hide my art because art is not a respected field. I then pursued a tech career. Society doesn't value art, and I learned that at quite a young age.

As the old saying goes “never be so loyal that you betray yourself”. Miles is a good guy and spider man but he gave up so much for his friends yet nobody did the same until it was too late I know they had their reasons but let’s face facts nobody even before Miguel got them was trying this hard for miles. Everyone was living their life and he should’ve done the same

He doesn't have to give up on graffiti just because he goes to physics classes. We know he also likes science. Drawing is his outlet, doesn't mean that he would want to do it professionally 24/7. "If you love something as a kid you must monetize it as an adult" is a recent phenomenon, he can always get better with his art little by little by himself but he isn't going to learn quantum physics all by himself.

Gwen & Miles will pull through. I also realized how cool Hobie was when you think back to the Gwen and Miles scene sitting down and catching up and she says that she’s been staying with Hobie and she says thats different. Hits you right in the stomach think the worse. Then you think back to the beginning 20 minutes of set up that Gwen only wanted to see Miles especially after Peter died. Once she got the watch it was probably the first thing that she thought about, then they told her about Miles. Hobie heard about Miles anomaly as well, important for the information below. Hobie was there as a big brother, who is over aged, listening to Gwen, underaged, talk about Miles constantly. Gwen also wanted to avoid the conversation about her dad and how she can’t go back, she’s homeless and her father believes she’s a murderer and is ashamed to tell the one person she holds so close, Miles. She probably would’ve before but is confused and in pain that she can’t tell Miles about his situation. Hobie also left a watch for Gwen, Hobie said fuck off and left way before they took Gwen’s watch. He knew that she was going do anything possible to save the person she loves. Beautiful writing. Creates doubt about a possible romance with Hobie but then you think taking all points into consideration: age wise (no we don’t want to think Hobie a pedo), circumstances of the beginning of the movie, I also don’t want to think Hobie took advantage of someone in such a mental state it would put down as scum, also Hobie pink. My theory for Hobie turning pink with Miles is that Hobie is Miles fanboy, I know I know but continue for the following reasons 1: he heard all about Miles from Gwen 2.Miles is the original anomaly, the first fuck you to the fabric of reality. 3 they tell us how much of anarchist Hobie is, he probably knew shit was going to go down because Miles was going to rebel. He made a watch left it for Gwen, and is on the Miles Recovery Team. He probably has Miles way up there on fuck the world I’ll follow him and cause chaos not for the sake of chaos but for the sake of giving a middle finger to the universe on cannon events. If I were the writers I would make Hobie’s cannon event a flashback really tragic that would put him in the I can’t accept that cannon events are real but knew he couldn’t do anything about it until he heard about Miles. It shows that he’s been planning everything for his sake and for the sake of helping Miles and Gwen break the cannon.

Because Gwen and Peter felt like they had to be the good guys with Miguel, they tried to let Miles down easy. But more than anything, it was such a deceitful move on their part to not tell him upright and pull a Hobie and stick it to the establishment.

This is just further proof that no matter who wears the mask, being Spider-Man is the worst thing to happen. Sure, there are those few who can be happy but jesus are most of them just absolutely miserable... it's really sad.

Ok, like I understand both sides. I feel what Miles is going through. When you feel that people you deeply trust, betrays you or doesn't support you as you expected. And also, remembering what some relative (in this case, his mom) say like: "No one can tell if you're capable of doing something"... It really hits hard. But on the other hand, I also understand Gwen. Appreciate someone but not knwoing what to do and then understanding that you made the wrong choice. And then want to fix everything and repay that person. Both perspectives are sad and understanable, I just hope that in third movie they can fix they're relationship. It was teuly beautiful, because you can sense the sincerity and deep affection they had to each other. ❤

I really like this take. Especially when knowing that in Spider-Man 2 for PlayStation, he chooses his love of creating music as a career because he has an incredible support system (his mom, Peter, MJ, his girlfriend), showing that he would choose a creative career if he had easy access to his loved ones.

I hadn’t really considered it the first time seeing the film, but I totally realised it a little while afterwards and seen the film for the second time. It made that ambition of his rather redundant. That is unless of course, perhaps the events that happened in the first film also simply inspired him to take up a career in the sciences instead because he realised he might have the capability to do so inside after all. It would be nice if that was actually the case.

I like miles because he’s been so rightfully lonely all in the space of one year an one of the only things occupying him was his role as Spider-Man, when it turned out that his friends could’ve seen him the entire time and that he was never supposed to be spiderman and that his existence was a mistake the mf didn’t just pity himself and get all depressed and take it out on others like a lot of people including me would’ve done. He sympathised with his friends and chose to reason with the situation. When Miguel proved to be extremely disrespectful to him for no reason by saying the most invalidating things to him and told him that he’s nothing with literal evidence and proof, Miles didn’t just trick him then went against what he said out of spite or malice against Miguel, he did it because he knew it was the right thing to do. People are told after watching these movies to be like spiderman because he’s bold, noble and forgiving but I’d much rather just be miles wether he has the mask for not because he has all of those qualities however also never lets self pity get to him no matter how many reasons he has.

As am artist, I’d say it’s completely fine for Miles to not pursue art as his degree/career. Sometimes it’s actually better and healthier to leave it as a hobby. It’s not tragic, it’s avoiding burnout

It's even worse when during that principal's office scene when he was talking to his parents about this school in new Jersey, he mentioned "Inter-Dimensional". Meaning he mainly went there just to see the spider gang again

That even hit me in the heart because all he wanted was to visit Gwen and Peter Parker Miles is such a good guy that he just wanted to visit, the friends said he loves. And how is Miles going to get a sacrifice? It? Because someone told me that Gwen was going to sacrifice herself in the next movie.

And in the end, he said "goodbye Gwen". Stating that he is willing to break the bond so he could go home to save his father...another sacrifice
