Hell I started using this character just when I saw her movelist since I liked the reference she has. Her Shield is a damn Chinese God Compass. She's adorable.

Man, I love how the characters move in their idle poses and walk cycles, so much of the basic animation in this game just oozes personality and because it's such a grounded footsie-heavy game, you're seeing that stuff constantly. SNK really found a solid style for this one and it works so well!

I agree on Galford's big super is a 10/10. With Charlotte's being an 8/10, or 9/10 for me. Basically Galford's is my most favorite and Charlotte's being my 2nd most favorite.

Am I the only one who thinks samurai showdown is one of the best current fighting games? It just has really cool mechanics: 50% defense 50% big attacks, fun, unique and balanced cast of characters. Just a really good time.

Agree with the diyes rating for glasses girl's super. That "no no no no!!" dialogue alone is an eleven for me, weird and funny, always 👍....here's hoping mah buoy Ashura ends up as a DLC, it would be good to see his supers in 60 fps.

Genjuro's supers (and I believe other attacks) actually use the imagery of Hanafuda cards, a kind of playing card used in various games in Japan. Specifically his supers use the cards for the "Five Lights", a high-scoring combination in the game Koi-Koi. I only realize this now because I played Koi-Koi as a minigame in the new Sakura Wars recently.

Should make a "Rate the Super" for SamSho 2019 based on the usefulness of the characters weapon flips. Where the opponent's weapon lands and the blow back distance and how hard it is to get your weapon back. Just an idea.
