5:25 For those not in the know. There is actually a lore reason Iroha hops on one foot like that. She is a crane spirit that was injured. And her “Master” took her in and tended to her injured leg. She took this form to give her eternal gratitude to him by being his servant till death. She hops on one leg because cranes usually only stand on one leg, so it’s more of a force of habit for her.

Shizumaru's super is honestly breath taking. The camerawork, and expression, everything.

Pretty sure part of Shizumaru's story is that the large sword he carries is possessed by some bloodthirsty entity that takes control of his body on occasion. I think he has a fatality in one of the old games where he literally breaks down in tears after realizing what he did.

Iroha's super is based on that one legend about the dude that married a crane She plucked her feathers everynight so he could make clothes and earn a living, but she told him to never look inside the room when shes there, one night he got curious and took a peek. He discovered she was a crane birbo and in shame she flew away to never return. -i think its something like that, i probably got some things wrong there tho...-

Umbrella boy/Shizumaru definitely has the best super. Like Max said, supers that tell a story like that are awesome. When the camera pans out and the kid was like, wtf? That was amazing. Also love Basara's super too, it was very Noob Saibot/Jedah-like.

There's something really damn satisfying about Haohmaru and Baiken's with how they incorporate the calligraphy effects and the intense gore into them

The fact that we see Less of the violence makes the Supers that much more brutal and sometimes spine chilling than any Mortal Kombat fatalities

When you've seen enough of these to know Max's standards for ratings, you can accurately guess what it'll be.

The Warden’s is so disappointing when you consider how many awesome executions there are in For Honor. They could have just as easily taken one from the game and it would have been awesome

Iroha is a Tsuru-Nyobo -- a Crane Wife. I just recently learned about that story.

There's something so epic about a finishing move where you are possessed by a demon, slice someone up, cover yourself with an umbrella to avoid the blood bath and then realize in horror the fucked up shit that you have done. A masterpiece of a finishing move👍

As generic looking as Warden is, I think he would be my main if I played.

Holy shit, I never realized Amakusa made it in! And he has freaking GRAVITY SHQUEEZE

Amakusa's looks to have taken inspiration from the KoF XV's level 3 supers in terms of camera work and animation it almost looks *too nice* to be in SamSho.

In a way Shizumaru’s feels like something Tanjiro would do if he ever became part demon

I wish we had gotten a guest character from “Ninja Masters”, another great Neo Geo fighter.

A little pet peeve I have is when Max doesn’t do it when they’re about to die because it makes the move more flashy.

God this game is such a sleeper hit. Great gameplay, nice artstyle, and some of the best supers in the business. Truly makes me upset with myself for never having played SamSho before this.

That Basura super where he takes you under the ground immediately reminded me of how Freddy Krueger kills Johnny Depp’s character in the original Nightmare on Elm Street

I love that Warden’s regular super is Blackstone Bash, even the way the opponent flies into the air from the leg sweep is spot on.

If only everyone who watched this video, and enjoyed this game would hop online so we could get some games going… I know… I know… No rollback makes life hard T.T

So for Wardens Supers, his first one is a refference to his execution called Blackstone bash, meanwhile the second one is a refference to his tier 4 feat that instakills all enemies caught in it.

That super is one of the myriad reasons as to why Shizumaru is my favorite fighting game character ever.

Max your crazy, Irohas second super is an easy 10 :) that last part where she catches back her blades before she cuts you is pretty legit.

I'll give Iroha's an 8. I just the feel of it, she beats the snot out of you and for the final hit she transforms back into a crane for a literal crane kick. The she just slashes and the blood smears the doors. Way too sick for a 7 imo

I think Amasuka litteraly says "You are Defeated" during this his Gravity Squeeze super, so SNK knew what they were doing with the reference

That character select music is great.

I expected the low points for Warden, he's built to be a basic character. He was in his own game, and he always will be since he's essentially the "Ryu" Character of For Honor. Still, they could've done something better than a Catapult. Maybe pull from one of his executions for both. I could see "Blackstone Bash" replacing "Stab Slash Slash Shoulder Bash, as it's essentially that but better. And maybe to replace his Catapult they could've used "Brutality of Camlann" or "Deep Hacking". You could argue that the executions are meant to kill but most supers in the game would just kill someone anyway as they generally do 1/2 - 2/3s of someone's life bar. You'dve damaged them that extra bit before you used the super anyway more likely than not.

Baiken's super could've been done better. Have some sliding paper doors appear between the camera and characters and the doors slide shut, showing only the silhouettes. Then have blood splatter all over the doors like they way it happened in XX. That tiny change would've made it so much better.
