Nice jig but you guys need to make a clamped version so you don't have to drill holes in the door.

This is what you need when your next project involves an owner who salvages some nice doors and despite being given the right tools and shown how, 'forgets to take the macthing solid mahogany door jambs with.

If you all do an update can you account for door trim. Either by smaller cam height maybe 3/16”. I was having issues redoing hinges on door jambs that are already installed with trim around the door and door stop block. I found out with 1 3/8 inch doors you just take the cams off and the bottom of the templates butt against the door stop and give you perfect spacing.

I have a 3 1/2 hinge with 1/4 radius. Wasn’t clear how to router that since the template I have is 5/8 radius. The kit I bought was the HingeMate 350

The hinge templates can be rotated to achieve a 1/4" or 5/8" radius.

I think this thing is cool but I wouldn’t buy it because I’m only gonna use it two or three times, If was a professional and did this for a living then it be worth investing in

This kit is really aimed at you and to me but in a lesser degree provided you already own a router. I'm a contractor and use mine maybe 5-10 times a year. Usually we're installing prebuilts and split jambs. I used the kit twice to do entire houses, maybe 10-15 doors each. I use it often to repair strike plates. If I needed a rig like this daily or even monthly, I'd invest in a much more expensive system. There are a bunch out there that are much easier to use but cost more and are not as easily stored. Regardless, it sure beats using a chisel!
