This is one of my favorite concerts, ever. I recorded several cassettes of Amnesty Int. off of KFOG simulcast live out of S. F., while watching it on network tv. I was absolutely stunned by this set. My ears melted. I was pretty familiar with Miles, for decades, but it took me a while to find out who the sax , guitar, and other members were. I've seen Robben Ford a few times, but never got to see Bob Berg, ever. He was taken from us way WAY too soon in a tragic traffic accident in '02. I have not found any digital CD or DVD with this set, and when Carlos walked on, I flipped. Just a stunning set. I still have that old cassette. It's been played a thousand times. Check out some other Miles-Berg-Ford/Stern sets on youtube. Bob was one of the best.

Not many would... but you know Miles always just was curious how sounds meshed. He appreciated virtuosity, but mostly you just had to be yourself. You can hear that when he plays, his solos aren't necessarily fast, they are abstractions.
