This is beyond true…they are trying to knock people off disability right now like never before. I’m so scared. The federal government is also trying to get rid of Medicaid entirely and they will most likely succeed and no one even realizes it is happening. I am so scared. Another thing that is so sad is that they only give me $600 in disability a month. They just increased it to that from $560 this year due to inflation. $600? That’s not enough to live off of at all obviously. On top of that they only gave me $15 in food stamps. That was not a typo. I absolutely cannot work and my doctors know this. I should not be fighting tooth and nail to stay on it disability.

Exactly, my insurance is playing doctor. They decided if I get approved for treatment. So if they say no, it’s just back to suffering for me and so many others

They help. They care. It’s just never “enough”. Be diligent and see what other options you have. What’s insurance doing etc. some of these things depend on how long you were in service for and if you were honorably discharged or not. Life isn’t just free. And while the service is hard and demanding it’s not a requirement at this time. These are voluntary peoples and a lot of “knuckleheads”. Unfortunately when you sign up you are in no way guaranteed to make it back home alive or in one piece or with no worry about money and healthcare again. There are countries that are set up better than us when it comes to healthcare but unfortunately how it is, no one just gets a freebie. People die and still aren’t given a freebie, nor their families. All they can do is help. It’s never enough though. That part is hard to accept.

@@scorpionattitude She’s didn’t say she or her son, whom she was referring to, were current military nor a veteran. She’s venting. You don’t know their struggle. And, might I add, if you aren’t disabled or aren’t close to someone who is you can’t understand. It’s frustrating when there is help, but you have to meet “THEIR” criteria and demands before “they” will even consider talking to you. And us “knuckleheads”, as you call us, are pretty important to your life and way of living. And if and until you are ready to volunteer your life it doesn’t really matter how you feel about the way veterans are treated post war. I personally haven’t been, nor my husband, but even asking for mental health help is frowned upon. It “shows weakness. Weakness isn’t tolerated when your a soldier, soldier.” *Verbatim!!!* 😊❤
