It's a date night with my husband of almost 25 years! When we were dating he would bring me to his farm and we would milk the cow together. It's just like old times. LOL

If any PhD is going to write a book on family farm life, on successful marriages, they first need to spend a "date night" with Kevin and Rhonda in the milking parlor. They can return to their office and write their book - a couple of pages will cover it all. Yes, it is all pretty simple - support the cause, support your spouse, work well with your spouse, and do what needs to be done without programs or org charts. that is where the term curious cow comes from. they will come up to you in the pasture if you stay still and look at you and maybe come up and sniff or lick you. gentle animals unless they have a calf and get close to or touch it. if it calls to mom then the momma bear comes out and you better be somewhere else asap before you get momma knocks you away from her calf. bull has to get a word in at 5:30. he thinks he is being neglected.

Super nice video Ronda. 99% of people have no idea what a date night while doing farm deeds is all about, it's so sad,that our country has removed itself so incredibly far, from real,traditional values. I am so incredibly thankful, every time I see you &Kevin completing farm tasks,&accepting that as your special night together, how absolutely special that is.BRAVO Kevin and Ronda ❤

Date night, great example. A cousin of mine, has had a Saturday date night for over 55 years. He figured it out, that works out to be over 2800 date nights. Enjoy your date nights. The years pass quickly. We just came back from a church meeting. We look forward to your KZfaq postings every week. One radio show from our next province used to sign on with, "Hello to all you milk maids of Saskatchewan." Those were the good ole days. As you know, dairy farming is a lot of work, everyday, including Sunday. 😊

Cows get a weight reduction treatment that works. They leave just a little smaller but with happy smiles.

We started out with just milking buckets and had to dump each bucket into the tank. Then we got a "step saver" that you dumped the bucket into and it went through a milk line to the tank. Thought that was the greatest thing. Eventually got a pipeline. Things got easier but more complicated. You have great channel. Gives the public an inkling of what the lifestyle entails and the long hours required.

I remember these times….working milking plowing all these work….now I have photovoltaik on my ground and no cows, not needed to work ever again in this life…and have same money….😂😂😂

Yes, shorter people have a harder time. When the kids were little, they would stand on a 5 gallon bucket to reach. 😄

This brings back so many memories, the sounds everything. I enjoyed milking cows. My wife would come down and help, but usually she would just visit and we had a smaller parlor, more narrow. As I moved around her, there was a lot of parlor kissing going on. Love you channel.

Parlor is some different than my neighbors 50cow and 60cow carousels, really don't know too much about them though! I must say i am smarter for watching your video! Cool safety device Sydney rigged up!

Great explanation with the parlor wash down and cleaning of the entire milk collection. I think you folks do a good job at cleaning and keeping your parlor clean, it's so difficult with all the manure and mud that a cow can get into. During the wet times of the year we have to access our hay storage through the same area which creates a lot of mud. Not fun to deal with, but it's something that you can't always avoid, with all the costs to keep a farm operation going. Anyways, love the video, keep up the good work and thanks for sharing. I hope everyone has a nice week.

Reminds me of when I was milking cow's, l milked 60 cow's in tie stall barn.My wife was Registered nurse.She would come to the barn help with evening milking most every night. Things were never quite the same after the cow's got sold.

True is love is spending time in the parlor milking cows on the weekend. The parlor sure beats milking in the barn. Some changes are good. It is always good to see you and your family. I spent a little time on my aunts farm and quickly learned it is harder than I thought. I guess the cows like peeking in the parlor to see what happen when they are being milked. I love milk. God done great work when he made it. 😀😀😀😀

Kevin is lucky to have other people to milk for him sometimes , we milk on two farms and I do 90% of the milking on the home farm and my son milks on the other farm and we find it difficult to find a reliable relief milker , we also do like you and cut our own silage , spread our own slurry and cow muck .

the last video i could see the tension was getting pretty tight you guys needed was rex to pick the chopper up and put her on higher ground. i am glade that you put that on youtube. my older brother and i got into that kinda situation to wear we couldnt even look at each other. dad left because he new shit was going to hit the fan my uncle stopped and told me and my brother that days like this is supposed to build character. well we could at least look at each other

I made a story up about milk for fun and everybody I tell it to believes it until I tell them I made it up. So, when whole milk starts to get to it expiration date the milkman picks it up and takes it to be processed into 2% milk. He does that with the 2% and turns it into 1% and then they process the 1% into skim milk, they process the skim milk and turn it into chocolate milk. I get a lot of wide eyes with that story!😂

When you do the final yellow hose wash'rinse in the milking room you went into the holding area to hose it down. How do you keep that area from freezing in really cold weather?

When we have freezing temps, we don't use water to clean it. We scrape it with skid loader and sometimes add sand if it gets any ice.

I'm not sure what they use, but most use an iodine solution, for both pre and post dipping.

there was a recent fire at a Dairy not far from Pittsburgh the family has been in business for decades they lost the milk processing, hay barn and many cows they are a good family the smoke could be seen for 10 miles my brother is friends with them

Romance is where you find it. Be it in a fine resturant or a milking parlor. I see the way you two look at each other. You were made for one another. Kevin is a very lucky man. I have a question. How long does a milking last? Five or ten minutes longer maybe? Holy smoke some of those bags are huge! Funny how when you start cleaning them and hooking them up the cows do that little dance.
