The New Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR) from Miller, paired with new T94-R™ Series Welding Helmets, is engineered for comfort to keep the system on - driving productivity, safety and compliance. Does this work better than a regular respirator like the ellipse or is a regular respirator still technically better

Adrien Alvarado other respirators might have the problems of air distribution, like getting air in your eyes and drying them out. I'm comparing the t94 to the speedglas, viking 3350, jackson bh3, and optrel panoramaxx. The miller seems to win on paper.

If you buy a t94i by itself can you add the papr system later?

Thanks for your question. The PAPR unit is not compatible with our Digital Elite helmets.

Rodrigo Padilla you must be tig welding which has little fume but some armful ozone gas compare to aluminium mig which produce lots of fumes and lots of ozone. Mig welding will make you sick much quicker than tig welding. On the other hand, if you mig weld aluminium without breathing protection, it is just a matter of time before it catches up to you. I have been welding for 50 years and if I am still alive today, it is because I bought one of these helmet.

If your welding all day This is it. But if your not and doing a lot of other fabrication details…. It’s a pain in the but. Down time taking it on and off. It fogs up pretty good too.

Tbh this things sucks to have to wear. To take on and off for company policy and compliance welding galvy. 1. The tube should have a quick disconnect at the filter but doesn’t. So your forced to connect the tube to the back of your head, the headgear of the helmet is hard to put on because of all the fabric. And would be easier to put o with the tube and connect to the filter. 2. The filter buttons are in accessible while wearing being on top of the back filter. 3. You can’t adjust the settings of the cartridge without taking it out. You can try but you’ll go cross eyed. I’m sure it is compliant with whoever it needs to be. But if you need to take your not welding steady all day …. It’s a Paint in the butt. I spend at least 1/2 an hour every day having to fidget with it instead of putting my hood up/down/off. So I can do layouts. It’s overkill. My company decided to buy 15 of these instead of getting us ventilation to the Addition recently added to the building and all the non welder employees are 100% exposed to the unfiltered galvy fumes. It’s a bandaid. There are certain conditions were this would be perfect. Production of standard parts all day maybe. But I fabricate and spend -waste alot of time taking it on and off. 🤷🏼‍♂️either way. Whatever the product miller is usually pretty quality. Just woke design flaws imo n

Hook me up with one ill buy the helmet if you can give me a air system :D i work 70 hours a week 6-7 days a week. Doing millwright work on asphalt plants all across the north east. Lots of confined space welding religning hoppers for aggregates and mainly re ligning the rolled steel on the whole inside of a 50 foot long aggregate dryer for hot mix asphalt I caNT AFFORD THE PURIFICATION SYSTEMS BUT I WOULD USE IT DAILY AND CHERISH IT. I'd give you guys a full video review of the helmet using it in my daily tasks. If you can even break me a deal id be really interested in buying one i have a digital elite now and have for the past 3 years i love it, see if you can hook me up id be honored and make you any vid you wanted.
