It is still going on. There are music machines and there musicians and singers. Usually not in the same place. Fab Morvan could actually sing. Another group by the same producer. Boney M. Bobby Farell was the lip sync, the rest actually could sing. I guess in Europe it was a given that staged show, were lip sync, so the sing part did not mess up the show part.

@@Mr.MarcAntony Yeah, I figured that's what you meant. I think it's kind of unfair to them given that performers use auto tune to sing songs someone else wrote. MV just took it one step further. The music was legit. Frank Farian (can't remember his name right now) knew that looks sell records. The real people somgomg these songs would've never reached MV success because they don't have the look. MV is a very interesting case study in that regard. Boy Bands are another one. Lou Pearlman proved that with Backstreet Boys and N'Sync.

@@andydhillon1977 Silmiliar events took place in the Dance Music world. Many of the popular early 90's dance songs we know and love featured vocals from Martha Walsh from The Weather Girls and their hit song It's Raining Men. Most notably C+C Music Factory and Black Box. Gonna Make Sweat, Everybody Dance Now, Strike It Up and many others. However back then in the dance music scene there was no place for a plus size woman in the world of hard bodies and mini skirts. So models were brought in for the music video shoots. It's funny how nowadays plus size women like Lizzo are celebrated.

Don't think I'm the only one that didn't care if it was them or not singing, there songs and energy made these some of the best music at that time. Edit- one thing I don't miss is those shoulder pad takeover. Had us looking like linebackers. Hated those things😂😂

They were ahead of the curve... Most of today's entertainment is Lip synced and auto tuned with signature dance moves. Why were they punished so hard? This is still amazing entertainment and it has survived the test of time.

La idea que se tiene de lo que es arte y también de lo que es y hace un artistas va cambiando a medida que pasa el tiempo, es más, en un determinado periodo te vas a encontrar con distintas visiones de que es o que hace realmente una persona para ser artista, por lo que siempre va a existir discordancia respecto a estos temas. En mi caso, y puede ser el de muchas personas que al escuchar el nombre o una canción de Milli Vanilli siempre se nos va a venir la mente Rob y Fab, nadie mas (no el baterista, bajista, guitarrista, tecladista o cantantes originales), ellos fueron y serán por siempre, Milli Vanilli.

Rob and Fab are beautiful charismatics and most of all they are good actors Brad Howell and charle shaw have a great voice but you don't have to put rob and fab as a villain in real life that's how it happened they were put as guilty of all and my question is how is that rob and fab deceived their own producer and his manager and how is it that they stole the voices of the real singers? and how they deceived the record company this is tremendous that is why I support rob and fab I love them with my soul it was a tremendous injustice many cleaned their hands and frank farian did not even apologize just shot miarda that he did and rob and fab showed up, handed in their Grammys and apologized to their fans.
