Poor Rob & Fab :( just two of countless victims of the record industry

He was making money knowing this and it didn't bother him. Only when they wanted to start singing on their own did he say it was a fraud. He made millions off this and one of these people took his own life. For him, only money is important

You can have a bit of mercy here. They were tempted, and they fell for that temptation. They admitted to their weakness and greed, however they were tormented by the lies, and frustrated by the industry's control. Yes they were wrong, but so was everyone else involved. A poor kid coming from the projects thought the American dream of fame and fortune would bring him salvation, he was deceived and spent the rest of his life tortured by it, which finally led to suicide. It's a sad thing. He didn't deserve that but it was unfortunately a consequence of that temptation.

Frank Farian used the he// out of these two young men! Then industry (Arista/Clive Davis) ate them up and spit them out. The only ones who suffered in this scenario was Rob & Fab, not Farian or Arista/Davis. I hope the movie releasing in August shows what really happened.

I just watched the movie! Its sad that Rob never recovered from this. He went downhill since that day! I'm really surprised it took “the industry” over 30 years to tell what really happened in a movie. Way overdue! RIH Rob…..🕊️❤ Fab? Keep your head up! 👊🏽

They lied to them from the beginning, had them sign those contracts that they couldn’t even read because the contracts were in German. I’m getting pissed off even listening to the way they’re asking them these questions with such disrespect. They got into this situation under false pretense they were told they were going to cover the song, and when they refused, then they reminded them they were under assigned contract. They control their life. Disgusting.💯

the guts and integrity to even stand in front of the vultures and media that wanted more than anything to tear these guys apart. they were naive, and had fame in their eyes. as much as everyone wants to say they wouldn't do it, until you are presented with the situation, nobody knows how they would react. they came clean, and they tried to live their dream again...but nobody wanted to give it a try.

I think the public and media were both really naive to the reality of the music industry. It was a super common practice in 80's European dance music to have a model on the album cover instead of the studio musician behind the scenes. The Milli Vanilli situation really wasn't anything new in that sense but it was the first one to get that kind of attention, probably because of the Grammy.

22:21 was just a poor answer to retreat the damaged views towards any artistic merit they contributed ... It's the smugness that emanates from all of them including Frank believing they could package and ship Black American RnB without repercussion....they were complaining that Frank promised them the chance to sing. What would that album have sounded like?(Did either of them practice singing off stage? Write songs to begin with? Practice runs? Hum a Stevie Wonder song???Their actual singing voices were terrible compared to the Albums and they should've just continued the act without changing a thing

22:21 The Real Milli Vanilli (Rob & Fab) Nowadays my music tastes are situated in rock, electronic, Celtic music and experimental & progressive rap and not these overplayed mainstream pop and rap bullshit oversaturating the domestic modern top 40 radio stations in my country alongside reggae and dancehall (though I do have a spot for classic African American soul and R&B from the 1970s and 1980s).
