I am sorry to say this, but Rob and Fab will always be Milli Vanilli. Do not undermine their hard work. It may not be their vocals, but its definitely their hard work that popularized Girl You Know its True, Blame it on the Rain, Girl I'm gonna miss you. Elvis became a superstar not because of his vocals but because of his image. His choreography, charisma, fashion sense, and hairstyle. All of these sold his music. Also add to these, the Duo already recorded an album before they became Milli Vanilli. So yes, they definitely could perform. The only problem was that at the time, they barely spoke any American English, and they had thick European accents. What any talent scout worth his salt should have done was to invest in speech and voice coaching for the raw talent.

Even despite all of the threats and lawsuits they have received. You really gotta give 'em a great amount of respect and credit just for being so brave and honest like that! These men can not only sing and dance EXTREMELY WELL, but they truly represent just how COOL and SEXY late 80s/early 90s musicians should be like. The way they dressed, the way they talked, and their gentlemen-like, polite European mannerisms (even the way they moved) are just on a whole other entire different level compared to today's modern-day FAILURES and DISASTERS. Do you really think he wouldn't call in every favor imaginable to make sure when the shit hits the fan, that it lands on Rob & Fab? This is the worst story. Two talented, absolutely gorgeous, young men with a dream met a snake. Frank used, abused, made millions off of them then threw them under the bus. They signed a contract written in German. Fab doesn't speak English. Both barely spoke English. While signing that contract neither had legal representation. After they signed the contract then Frank the snake told them they would not be allowed to sing. This cost a precious life (Rob). Frank should have been held accountable. Instead he walked away rich. They had their marching orders.
@aleccopile3 жыл бұрын
This is the first time I see the press conference in its entirety. With all due respect to the vocal coach, I'm not so sure Rob & Fab could have really sung those songs. As far as I'm concerned, Fab sounds good these days, but back then he had an accent when he sang. That's the thing. You can have a great vocal sound and hit the right notes, but if you have an accent, it doesn't really sound good to make an rnb/hip hop album that should appeal to an American audience. His english sounded better on the Rob & Fab album though. For my taste, Rob's vocal sound didn't really sound good. He could have sung backings, which he eventually did, but otherwise he wouldn't have been a good lead singer. It was so unfair how they were treated. Yes, Rob & Fab made mistakes, but there were a lot of people behind the scenes who also cashed in, but were able to walk away. It's ludicrous to think that these two guys orchestrated the whole thing. Everyone involved with Milli Vanilli knew what they were getting into.
@daryltracy79493 жыл бұрын
I agree with everything you said. Their performance on the Arsenio Hall Show proves your point. Fab was a much better lead vocalist and had a much more flexible accent than Rob. The only song Rob sang lead well on was the unreleased "Don't Give Up The Fight". But Fab overall was the better singer because he had the right voice for their kind of music (the Rob & Fab album, not Milli Vanilli) as well as a better accent. It had improved by 1992-3.
@daughterofolaf Жыл бұрын
Yeah, there is no comparison between their voices and the actual singers behind the songs. Frank Farian was a smart man. Not a good or honest man, but a smart one.
@sabineb.5616 Жыл бұрын
@@daughterofolaf, Frank Farian is a good musician and a marketing genius. And when he used the great looking dancers who eventually would perform Boney M's songs, it wasn't a secret that not all members of the band actually sang. Back then the fans didn't care, and Boney M. eventually acquired a few very talented singers, and Boney M. had a string of great hits. But the two guys who publicly represented Milli Vanilli, were badly railroaded by Farian because they initially didn't know that they would never sing and just move their lips. However, I think that they weren't great singers. That's why they were never successful with their own stuff. If they had turned out to be great singers, Farian would've probably allowed them to sing, since that would've been a lot easier for all people who were involved in the "Milli-Vanilli" project.

Since I heard their real voice, I love them even more ❤️✊ I am even more sad that the two of them were so abused by Frank Farian just to increase his own wealth 📌

I think it was done on purpose, because Rob 🎩 and Frabrice was rising to fame and I think others were getting jealous of them so it was time to expose them.☹️so no right.😠😡
