Milo's off on her last journey before long - Roothy's handing her over to the National Motor Museum, the Australian Government's own collection of heritage motoring, where she'll be preserved forever. Wow, the end of an era....

To be asked to intern your vehicle for enternal preservation to the National Motor Museum is an honour bestowed on only a few. Congratulations Roothy. I believe Milo would be happiest next to the Tom Cruise 6x6 Leyland mailtruck. Both are legendary vehicles of very different eras of life, but both tell one story.....that of Australian outback travel and exploration. 👍👍

Absolutely for the best Roothy! The ol’ girl would be able to do another few laps around Australia with ease. She’s symbolic of the lifestyle of all 4wders alike and she’s had call up to her well deserved throne! How could anyone say no! Can’t wait for what’s next with Milo 2.

That beautiful old truck deserves a legacy to last a thousand years. I'll be driving down from Darwin in my own beat up old 40 series to see her off, looking forward to the road trip and meeting the most recognizable 4wd in the country!

She already was part of Australia's motoring history, mate. Now she will be somewhere where anyone and everyone can have access to her and meet her in the flesh. And for the record, I do believe that cars can have souls. When they are loved enough, they develop a life force of their own. Milo has had the advantage of you and your family's love, and the love of a nation of 4W drivers. That makes for a pretty amazing soul. She may not be able to tackle the tracks anymore, but she can go one better - Inspiring generations to come to do the same.

This is truly sad to see happen.. The old girls got a massive heart and she is being locked up in a retirement home instead of being where she loves to be, the bush. I know this decision is the best to keep her in one piece, but to end like this is very sad... Of course i will go and see her, and of course i will watch the book shelves full of the dvds she starred in, but no other truck could ever take her place.. Guess sometimes good things do need to come to an end... Lots of love To Milo and yourself John..

Nice to see it recongnized. Personally, I figured they could take it from you when you pass. That would be my attitude, but I keep my vehicles for a long time, you have, and maybe it is time, but I think I'd have too much attachment to the ol bugger. Either way, I'm glad to see it recognized.

NO! don't give up Milo. I know its something that might seem right at the time, but milo is meant to be having fun where she belongs. She belongs on the dirt, beaten road. She may not see the same crazy tracks she did when you first drove her, but sending her the museum is like sending your dog to the pound.
