Hi John, I agree with you on the 033. I disagree on the 017. I think the gold is done in a beautiful way. I love green, but I was a bit hesitant with regards to a green dial. Somehow it just really works in my opinion. I love the watch as much as the 033 and my Hamilton Khaki and 013 😁

Thank you for your comment! I have had the same issue. What I did was to buy a bracelet extension on eBay for a few dollars. This gives you a few extra micro adjustments. It is a sacrifice to the look, but it is an affordable solution to your problem. I have had the same problem choosing a clasp on Strapcode. What I did is look into loads of videos on KZfaq to try to see the different clasps they make. I ended up buying the V-Clasp. I think this one looks the most sophisticated on the watch. Bear in mind it’s a much thicker clasp compared to the original clasp. I don’t mind. It is very sturdy and it looks classy. Regarding minute 13 you are right. There seems to be a very small gap between the bracelet and the case. I hardly notice it on a daily basis. But it is there. Both on my Sarb033 and on my Sarb017. I think you cannot go wrong with the 013! I haven’t tested the specific bracelet, but I am sure it looks amazing. I wear my SKX013 on Bond Nato strap by Watchgecko. And sometimes I throw it on the original Seiko jubilee bracelet - which is excellent in my opinion. You might want to have a look at the larger SKX007. It is a very stunning piece!

coco9191rdr it's not just you to see the gap at 13.00 between the endlink and the watch case which I find unaccettable for a custom made bracelet of that price. Fortunately my Strapcode Super Oyster and Super Jubilee for my SKX 007 and 009 fit perfectly as well as the Super Jubilee for my father in law SKX 013. Is it a specific issue with the bracelet of this review? The pictures on Strapcode website do not show any gap.

I have heard about the gap in other situations of the Strapcode for Sarb033 as well. So I think it is not just me. I am fine with it. I notice more shortcomings with the original metal bracelet compared with the Strapcode one.

Welcome sir. I think this Strapcode bracelet designed specifically for the Sarb017 fits quite nice indeed. The curved ends are very specific. However you could fit a bracelet in there with a straight end. For example a sharkmesh bracelet. I have one from Vostok that probably fits, but I prefer the look of the curved end link that (almost) perfectly fits with the case of the Sarb017. Hope this helps :)

Yes you are correct. There is a tiny bit of play. I usually don’t notice it.

Mine does that too. It doesn't bother me, but I've pondered putting a little scotch tape around some designated springbars to see if that helps but honestly, it doesn't bother me that much.

I see your point. I disliked the clasp of the Sarb033. The bracelet from Strapcode overall feels a bit sturdier. The original bracelet is definitely not bad though.

I googled my way to this quite helpful video in considering whether to get my 033 a Strapcode oyster for christmas, since my wife keeps after me to tell her what I want. I am quite pleased with the factory bracelet in terms of look and comfort, except for that silly gap in the clasp. I have this same Strapcode oyster on my SKX007, so I tried comparing the two. Two factors helped me decide I don't want to make the purchase: First, while the safety lock makes sense on a diver, it's just in the way on an everyday watch like the SARB and, second, the extra bulk of the clasp on the Strapcode makes it far less comfortable when resting my hand on a desk or table. So, I decided to live with the gap. YMMV, but I'm grateful for the video.

I do agree with the statement that the Strapcode clasp is quite big for an everyday watch / dress watch. However it seems not to bother me at all. Plus, I really love the option of micro-adjustments. Hi Ouroboros, please tell me what you think protrudes too much. Regarding the thickness of the Strapcode buckle: the thickest point is 7.6mm and the average point on the buckle is 7mm thick. The case of the Sarb017 is 12mm thick. I think it goes well together. Somehow better than the buckle with the Sarb033, because the Sarb033 looks dressier in my opinion. All in all I think a great choice bracelet and buckle for this watch minus the small gaps between case and endlink.

@@GadgetsforGentlemen I mean the endlink, it has that "male" fixed half link that protrudes making the lug to lug longer. I hope it's clearer now!

Nope. Did't try that. However I think the cases differ like 1mm thus in theory it wouldn't fit.
