I bought my Dad a SARB017 with this bracelet as a 75th Birthday present. I think it's the best looking bracelet for the Alpinist. 👍🏽
@MrVitamincpp3 жыл бұрын
I have the same bracelet on my Alpinist and I absolutely love how it looks, I never change it to strap.
@sixtyseconds37476 жыл бұрын
Love that bracelet on it. Leather looks nice, but it looks like a solid piece with that bracelet
@BrakkoJanus5 жыл бұрын
I can see why you'd prefer this one over the Strapcode one because of branding and the fact that this is made specifically for the Alpinist line. I feel the same way! I'm worried about that gap on the endlinks, other than looks, does it make noise or scratch the watch? I just ordered my Alpinist and I have to decide on what steel bracelet to buy. Thanks!
@robertspinks8356 жыл бұрын
Can recommend that bracelet too, so comfy and suits it perfectly 👍 agree on the gap my only gripe

Hope the next model Seiko comes out with is even better.

Great video. Been considering the Seiko Bracelet vs. Strapcode and Geckota. This one seems less bulky with the best noticeable clasp although most expensive.

Glad to see someone struggling as much as me when putting the bracelet back on. If I had done it, it would have been backwards and I'd have to take it off and do it again.
@RandomRobReviews6 жыл бұрын
Haha, done that before.
@Celric_Death6 жыл бұрын
SaoDavi Ended up putting mine on backwards lol, rather than mess with the end links again I just unscrewed the bracelet from the end link and flipped it round. Took me forever getting it to sit right haha

Random Rob silly question, do you still have spare bracelet?
@drwindsurf6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Rob. It is amazing how different the Alpinist looks on leather compared to the bracelet.

Bracelets are my thing for sure, but......alpinist looks amazing on leather.
@avicente7115 жыл бұрын
I always thought the Alpinist looks better on bracelet vs. Strap... any strap. Thanks Rob. btw, I think you should get a felt pad to do your work on.

Just got the alpinist. Yes. I need a bracelet
@Sid-np3hf3 жыл бұрын
I agree it would have been nice to get this Seiko bracelet but since was never easily available and cost $200, I bought an alternative Seiko bracelet for $40. It fit perfectly and was better looking. I gifted this watch to my wife (my favorite and most expensive watch in my collection). I must admit that I selfishly bought an Uncle Seiko brushed President’s bracelet that I can swap out to wear when I want.

Could you use skx style spring bars (fat) to cut down on the endlinks movement?
@2travellers6056 жыл бұрын
Hey Rob, really no nonsense channel you’ve got here. I have a query, I think this is the same part number for the stock bracelet in SBDC051? Actually, I have an SBDC053 which comes with the soft rubber strap and I just LOVE the way 051 looks with the bracelet. So you think it’s the same one? If yes then how about selling me the spare one? (If it’s still available)

Wondering if this will fit a Seiko baby turtle. Same lug width

Thanks for the video. I think that the little bit of looseness in the end links would drive me nuts. Can't Seiko make a better fit?
@milesa-c38653 жыл бұрын
i have the same bracelet on my baby alpinist and have almost zero movement on the curved end links
@TheTimLara6 жыл бұрын
Lol...seller is sold out already. Panic buyers out in full force! I'm getting too slow in my old age. I wonder why Strapcode makes that extra middle piece stick out more on their end links instead of doing them like this. I prefer this way as the Strapcode way increases the lug to lug a little bit.
@RandomRobReviews6 жыл бұрын
They were always kinda tricky to find and expensive, guessing will be impossible to find now.

What make/model is the leather strap?
@JozyVazquez6 жыл бұрын
Where did you get the leather strap? I've been trying to look for one like the one you have. Thanks!
It looks like Kenta at Japan Online Store is getting another shipment of Alpinists. Taking pre-orders at $387. Amazon already into 600's. Cheers.

The size is good for you, you say? I just got this exact bracelet today and can't get a good fit, it's either too snug or too loose. I removed three links overall, 7" wrist. Can't wear it really, not in the summer for sure. A half link would do wonders, or a clasp with more holes.
@RandomRobReviews6 жыл бұрын
Had that issue year ago at 7.25” wrist, lost 40 lbs and wrist is smaller more like 7-1/8” now and works great. It has a narrow sweet spot with no half links and only 2 micro adjust.
@arindambasu98506 жыл бұрын
The strapcode oyster for the Alpinist is a much better alternative at exactly half the price. Better clasp, more microadjusts, and screw links. Great quality too.
@HGX16 жыл бұрын
Clasp is massive, there's no need for a clasp that big but agreed on the micro adjustments. I think 3 is the perfect amount to keep the clasp small, 2 like on the OEM might leave the bracelet not fitting well.

Seiko does Seiko best. Hard to explain.

Hi Rob I m new in mechanical watches world and I took a look on youtube channels, a lot of them are great and helpful but yours speaks to me more than others, dont ask me why, I dont know😀 I m planning to purchase my first mechanical automatic watch and I need your advice, My budget can go up to $500
@RandomRobReviews6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. $500 budget is great. It’s super hard to beat a Seiko skx009 skx007 on factory jubilee. Make sure and buy from a good seller that will get you one lined up and tighter bezel so it’s a positive experience (worth little more). If your wrist can support larger, even more great options from Seiko or that new Orient Bruce just reviewed. Those are all divers, field watches tons of options too.

Vegan bacon Get the seiko turtle Padi insted. Better movement and finishing and still under 400bucks.

I own a Seiko SKX175 (Pepsi dial for the US), and absolutely love it! It is unique, gets compliments, and keeps great time. I paid about $250. If you need something a little dressier, Seiko Presage offers several choices.
@TheTimLara6 жыл бұрын
Random Rob If I wasn't totally over budget right now, I'd be after that new "mini OSD" Orient. It looks like it fixed everything I wanted to see in the Mako II USA. Looks really great.
@blablabla006 жыл бұрын
A Seiko Turtle is a really good choice if you want a diver. The Alpinist or the Hamilton Khaki King/Field is are really good choices if you want a field watch. If you wan't an Alpinist, you should buy it soon. An Orient Bambino or Seiko Presage Cocktail are good choices if you want a dress watch.

Does anyone make a Oyster or Jubilee bracelet for a Sarb035?
@Sid-np3hf5 жыл бұрын
Do you know the differences between Seiko motz111j0 and the D3A7AB? Pics are so grainy on the net. It looks like the only difference is the d3a7ab clasp is a fold over. Any info is appreciated.
@ivanmejia6843 Жыл бұрын
Did you find out the differences? Thinking about getting the D3A7AB for my SARB017...
@Sid-np3hf Жыл бұрын
@@ivanmejia6843 No, I did not. However, I will tell that the Uncle Seiko’s President’s bracelet is superior to any Seiko bracelet. It is also cheaper and is the only way that I wear my SARB.

Alpinist was made for bracelet...This is good looking but the Angus Jubilee is pretty awesome as well
@TheTimLara6 жыл бұрын
Miamis4me Totally agree, the Alpinist should have come with this bracelet. I assume they were just trying to save cost without skimping on the watch itself. Which isn't a bad choice either. Just too bad the stock bracelet is hard to find.
@jk123246 жыл бұрын
"Stock bracelet", so is it the exact same one you find on the Sarb 033/035?

Never mind, watched on and saw you pointed out the chamfered clasp and straight pins, so it's different

This came on the Black and Cream dialed alpinists, SARB013/15. The 017 came on leather, they were a trio until the other 2 were quickly discontinued.

Does anybody know how to fix that gap on the clasp or where can i get a replacement clasp for that bracelet, that gap bothers me.
@ivanmejia6843Ай бұрын
Uncle Straps has a replacement clasp with three micro-adjustments.

Isn't the Miltat oyster bracelet or what it's called from Strapcode about $85? And this bracelet was over $160? Sounds like bad value to me and Seiko fans usually like good value.
@RandomRobReviews6 жыл бұрын
Seiko fans also prefer Seiko.
@HGX16 жыл бұрын
Yea I can easily buy the strap code but the clasp is masisve, plus this is an OEM bracelet that is actually really nice, always preferred.
@davidwatson30356 жыл бұрын
My dear old thing, when will you Americans understand, that it's not "It's wrapped really good" but rather, "It's wrapped really well." Also, "It fits the watch really nice" but "It fits the watch really nicely." Adverbs make all the difference, don't you know. What. What.

I really see no point in buying the Seiko bracelet for a premium if one can get the Strapcode super oyster bracelet for much less. The Strapcode one has a much better clasp (I have the Submariner clasp) with more micro adjustments and does not have this huge gap the Seiko clasp has...which I find really annoying. Also the Strapcode endlinks fit much better than the Seiko ones...at least if one uses normal springbars and not the super thin ones strapcode supplies. The machining itself isnt so much different...some would argue that the screwed connection of the Strapcode is much better, while I have nothing against split pins. I really recommend checking out the Strapcode offerings for the Alpinist instead of buying over 160 USD for an generic Seiko bracelet with all its little short comings.

Those oem bracelets are way too expensive for what you get. I’ll be buying a strapcode super oyster with a ratchet clasp for $115 soon.
