During the day, a large line of thunderstorms broke out stretching from Luton all the way up to Birmingham. During the latter part of the day, the storms furthest south were still going strong. Driving across country, the anvils surrounding the activity were very impressive against the backdrop of the sunset.
The line of storms were back building all the time, this meant they didn't actually appear to move so those places underneath would see up to 2 hours of thunderstorm activity.
The video shows the "chase" from Daventry down to Milton Keynes to a viewing spot for the southern most cell. The storm didn't last for more than 40 mins after getting there but the view was well worth it.
In order to get to view the storm, I had to core punch the Milton Keynes storm which was wrapped in a large amount of rain. The carriage way was almost impassible in places due to the huge volume of surface water.
As luck would have it my 4k camera's battery died so i had to fall back on my phone for most of the video.
