Nice one Chris it’s good to see the 40s are still alive and kicking. Some very interesting artefacts there. Cheers ⛺️🍺

really neat to see =) I didn't know there was line dancing back in the 40s, we would do country line dancing about 20 years ago during university when we went to the country bar. Love the old technology, we've got some of my Grandparents old things, like phones and a reel to reel audio recorder. =)
@MrQuintonia5 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate, yeah it's very similar to line dancing, must admit not a fan of it.. The old stuff is cool and made to last, shame things are not made to last now days.. Cheers mate...

@@4rjohny5 Thanks mate, I'm not happy with it really, the editing causes a problem with the frame rate, not had before.. 🤔 But using my s9 Samsung Galaxy for the first time, all g with an osmo.. I shall have to experiment...
@4rjohny55 жыл бұрын
do you mean you have the osmo for cell phones or the osmo that has it's own camera Chris?

That bloke in the beginning said "During the war"...LOL The gal was a good singer....Lola Lamour A bit of George Formby music went well with the clips.. Winston Churchill with a cigar...that's all you need. Loved the moustache the Welrod guy had. Looked a wheely good event. (Sorry about the wheely joke)

the gal did a grea rendition of Carmen Miranda's I I I Like you very Much... That pipe gun looked interesting..and that it was a silencer(assassin pistol)..The old telegraph machines.. My father had a hand crank generator and an old field telephone(huge heavy metal thing).and some German binoculars (big heavy ones that uzsed a tri-pod) as a kid, we'd giggle as they said hell on them..Hell means light and dunkel means dark
@MrQuintonia5 жыл бұрын
I actually found that gun interesting, and off camera asked if I could borrow it.. ;) The Germans made some really good stuff and still do, but we had them licked when it came to planes and ships, apart from U boats of course.. I find this period very Interesting.. I would love a field telephone for the shed, be so cool... :) Thanks Shirley.. :)

For a gas attack, I use an over the counter drug, from the druggist, called Gas-X. What a morbid outdoor charity shop with all that war gear! No 78 records there, bud? ...hehe. I hope you wore your 1940s dress at this event, especially for the fun dancing. Thanks for the sights :)
@MrQuintonia5 жыл бұрын
I did actually get myself some 78's with two Benny Goodmans and a Spike Jones as well... The battery went on my phone so couldn't film it.. Yes its a 40's thing, so lots about the war as over here it is thought of as the best time, community wise.. I like it because of the music and the fashion and they way the British pulled together, even through the blitz... Those times gone, we have lost the spirit...
@GeorgePencilArt5 жыл бұрын
I've seen one of these English WW2 festivals once before... not sure if you did it, or Eggman of Wales. Or someone else. Glad you got some of your 78s ! Cool! Our music library at work doesn't circulate those, as are more fragile than vinyl records... I don't think we have any circulating ones anyway as most or all are in non-circulating special collection. We have a holiday today... Labor Day. We name out holidays, instead of calling them bank holidays ;)
@MrQuintonia5 жыл бұрын
@@GeorgePencilArt George McVlog Yeah that was possibly me, I've done a couple.. Our bank holidays have names to.. I put these up for the people who couldn't get to the event.. I was really pleased with my find on the 78s.. I love American early jazz and big band and so chuffed to bits.. 78s are fragile as, brittle but harder than vinyl...
