Known as Pimp School and Home to the Milwaukee Cannibal, the city is ranked third highest for murder, robbery, and aggravated assault. Crime rates in Milwaukee rank 146 percent higher than the national average as the vibrant pulse of urban life fails to conceal its harsh reality. These unforgiving circumstances have earned Milwaukee its second name, Killwaukee.

I was thinking the same thing @AnthonySmith-nj3he. I also live in Milwaukee, and its quite clear to me that who ever made this video, didn't do their research at all. Milwaukee is the most segregated city in the U.S, with the northside of Milwaukee predominately inherited by African Americans, while only a small portion of the southside of Milwaukee being dominated by Latinos.

Well when u coming from the south once u cross those two bridges (27 and 16th) it’s a whole nother world.. and for the record, the Northside is Black, South Side city limits is Hispanic, east side mixed with a lot of Puerto Ricans… and the lower east side (closer to the lake) is primarily the wealthier. The whites separated in suburbs surrounding the city. And ain’t no West side of Milwaukee idk why everybody keep saying this 🤦🏾‍♂️😑🫤. Once u hit 1St steet technically ur in the western side cause u leave the east side but it ain’t no west side of the mil specifically.

So many positive things going on in Milwaukee! Bucks are doing great, Packers aren't doing that bad. Fonzi statue, Great Farmers, Great and diverse culturally. Great food. Great athletes and musicians come out of Milwaukee. The crime can be heartbreaking, but we as a community have to put forth the effort to focus on positivity and give back. There are great people in Milwaukee.

MLDs it was never alot of them, i remember running into a few around 35th/ brown st on the north side. I would always see their hitups around 24th / mineral and they would be at it with 21s for whatever reason you had all these small folk gangs over there bangin on each other. i knew about the SC and the MLD beefs due to them being part of different folk families in chicago and their wars but it just didnt make sense to me that all these different folk gangs fought each other over there while latin kings pretty much ran the south side Cobras would pop in and out of the south side then run back to waukesha after being chased off. My cousins them are from there. I used to visit them in the summer. They went to a high school called Rufus King High school then they went to Morehouse, Spelman College and Georgia Tech in Georgia. They are either Doctors or Lawyers now so I am thinking Rufus King must have been a good high school? I just know we used to smoke a whole lot of green when I came to visit but they were always on the high honor roll. My uncle did not play that.

This is inaccurate. I’m 57 and have lived here my entire life. Milwaukee had no real economic problems until around the 80s when the manufacturing base started to decline. At that time it also got rewards national rewards for being one of the cleanest cities. The reputation of the city was that it was a great place to raise the family that was all through the 80s and 90s. You only had crime in a small 8 mile area on the northside And the crime did not spike until cocaine was introduced in about 1980. there are no Hispanic gangs anymore. There were in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s the Latin Kings and such you very rarely hear of Hispanics killing each other. They’re actually doing well in this city lots of blue-collar businesses, landscapers contractors. The Hispanic people live on the south side where the Germans used to live, yes the city is segregated but people segregate themselves I’m black and I’ve lived everywhere I’ve wanted to. Although the black seem to conjugate on the north side and the north west side crime got off the hook because of leadership mayor Cavalier Johnson, mayor Barrett before him they like woke police chiefs and district attorneys that are bought paid for by Warren Buffett where they don’t lock people up they don’t put up a big bail and another thing called the Collins agreement which basically ties the hands of the police so the police don’t do anything and that’s when they mentioned in the documentary, when the homicides practically doubled. Another thing that exploded the crime when the police department decided not to chase anymore. This was a very bad thing for Milwaukee and introduced the bad driving that you see now. Went up 500% because the drug dealers could deal out of their cars and they could just run away. I’m talking text, so please excuse my grammar.

Errors in the video, but a lot of truth. I used to live on 34th and North AVE. and 42nd and Vliet. Had to leave to get my kid a chance at a better way of life. Remember all the gunshots at night, youngsters shooting at police, and authorities playing with the perpetrators. Combine this with entrenched racism, and person who have grown accustomed to "being on the system", this has been a recipe for disaster for this previously beautiful city.
