I was surprised when The anvil was new, but when I called the Repairs department they claimed only the switch had been changed, I don’t know why they won’t be honest and say what was changed, they said they had wiped it with a special cloth that makes it look new 😂 hilarious 👍🏻thanks for the great comments 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi I'm a mechanic from Chorley in Lancashire. Only nine miles from Preston where you bought your impact gun from. I've got the same gun as yours only mines not the one key. All of my colleagues have the same and one key ones no issues at all. I used to have the snap on old nicad gun and for the last few years I've had the 20v Ingersol rand gun. Fantastic bit of kit love it. Nothing wrong with it but the batteries are getting tired. The batteries are around £185.00 each. So I decided to go Milwaukee. I bought mine from powertoolmate on line. I paid £300.00 for the full kit with 2 batteries. I watched your first video. Brilliant by the way. Then took the plunge and bought it. Now then. Here we go. More or less from day 4 ish I noticed the gun would bog down. It would be on a fastener trigger fully depressed go click click click then spring into life and get the job done. It's still the same about 3 weeks in. It doesn't do it all the time and to be fair not very often but it still does it. Definitely a fault and it's only going to get worse. I stumbled across a 2 minute ish video from an American truck fitter demoing the exact fault as mine and saying it's the second gun to do this. My one is clearly on borrowed time and will most certainly be going back in the future. It seems there's a faulty batch out there.

I would contact Milwaukee warranty, like mine they will most likely replace the internals and you will have it back in a couple of days, I have had no issues since, if you don't get it fixed it will do your head in not knowing if its going to work the next time you pull the trigger. I love the Milwaukee impact, the power is ridiculous, Hope you sort it Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

I know it’s been years since u posted this video, but my 2861 mid torque did the same thing. Of course I’ve had it for several years now with NO issues. Left it in my truck for about… a month at least, with a fully charged battery and this started. Gonna attempt to swap the trigger out myself since the warranty is definitely expired!!🤦‍♂️ I own A LOT of Milwaukee tools and other than some cheaper chucks in some of the older drills not holding bits tight enough, I’ve never had any kind of issues!! This sucks, but I’d have to say I’m still a Milwaukee fan!!🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I have Milwaukee batteries but the cost of a bare unit high torque is £240 and the mid torque is about the same, so I went with the DeWalt mainly based on the fact that you can find the bare units for £140, it takes away the rigmorol of taking off the wheel nuts it's beast too.

Milwaukee Warning. It all started when I thought I would treat myself and brought a brushed combo kit £199, got it home to find ou, it had core balance issues on both the impact driver and drill, so upgraded to the brushless versions, it took three more different combo kit boxes to find a combination that was good. Then had to take them back, as price dropped by £50. in all I have managed buy 8 different combo kits sets of the same equipment to find the right products that are not damaged at the right price. All I can say excellent customer service from SF, not sure if I have the confidence in the Brand yet. Milwaukee Tools beware, I have never used any other brands, so this is not a dig, it is honest from a newbe.. just wanted to let you all know as I cannot find any negative comments about these products.

You'll probably never have another problem with it. I've been using Milwaukee for years and had my first problem with my BRAND NEW 1,500ft-lbs torque ONE-KEY impact. Apparently they got a hold of bad trigger processors (chips) and know to just change is straight away. If there's any other weak parts, they'll change that as well and probably not out that on your paper. I've spent thousands on this brand because I've never seen anything else outperform Milwaukee. I've torn out quite a few gearboxes on my DeWalt drills, whereas Milwaukee drill broke my wrist first, gearbox was fine. Only reason I'm here is because it looks as if you have the exact impact as mine and I didn't know what to do, mostly because I have probably about 25-35 Milwaukee products for many years and FINALLY encountered a problem. I was blown away. I've never witnessed one of their products fail. Especially one that didn't make it an hour.

Every FUEL repair I have encountered was because of improper wire placement during manufacture. They sometime trap the ribbon or thin wires between the case resulting in open circuit after some use, other than that they are as good or better than Makitas on reliability. Their motors and gears are bullet proof.

Interesting video my friend. I am surprised, but also not surprised. I had already left Milwaukee Electric tools, back in 1993 when I believe everything was all American made. I was not present when Milwaukee was bought over by Ryobi, a China company in 2002. I still have one buddy who still works for Milwaukee but under the assumed company. He is a repairman and a darn great one. The repair station we worked in was located in Woodside Queens, NY and closed, employees bought out and the new merger moved the station to another location in queens. I've only viewed one other video on here, regarding the trigger on the 2767-20. Apparently these tools continue to retain the good workmanship and abilities. Unfortunately, the smaller electrical parts like trigger switches may be coming from over seas. Also unfortunate is a fairly new unfamiliar tool mechanic may not have the skills required to repair a tool when more than just a switch is the problem. In warranty cases, lets take your gun, the whole tool is replaced with the exception of the right housing cover, which has the tools information. This would get the tool quicker back to the consumer. The unfortunate issue here is, one only has 3yrs to get good service on job and warranty. After that it will be coming out of thy pocket. I personally have been thinking of buying one, the 2663-20 for $99.95. Then there's the batt and chargr to get. Of course I wouldn't be using it often. To do my struts, an occasional brake job or flat tire. The best one I think is the 2767-20. It has monstrous power, software UI, and will last. Cherio..

This is sadly how most tech is "repaired" regardless if its a power tool, computer or car. The technician will just diagnose the problem for data, then replace all components instead of repairing just the broken bit as per manufacturers instructions. Its fine when its under warranty, but makes for some unecessarily expensive "repairs" when its out of your own pocket.

It is a little bit of a pain to set it up online, but once you make an account with them it’s a lot easier to make a warranty claim in the future. But a little tip that I do is anytime I buy a new tool, I take a picture of the ser.# then I log it into my phone under tools. You can also take a picture of the receipt or even both. I prefer the ser.# because above it has the name of the tool. That way in the future if you loose your receipt or the ser.# is worn off you will have it your phone. As far as Makita that’s all I use to buy until they started making a lot of their tools in China as well. Makita’s older tools were all made in Japan. But even though some are made in China the only problems I had was with the 18V brushless circular saw the single battery one gave me a lot of issues, it would just cut out and not do anything when engaging the the trigger and the only other tool was their top of the line 18 V hammer/ drill driver similar issues. I think every company has its bugs & issues, for me it’s just how it is with these new high tech tools.

Up to 30 days the retailer should give you a replacement or a refund. 30days to 6 months you must give them The Retailer an opportunity to put it right before you can claim a full refund, over 6 months you must give them The Retailer an opportunity to put it right before claiming a partial refund and the burden is on you to prove it’s faulty. Fobbing you off to the mfr is just wrong.

Not sure, but you could be having the same issue I was having on my impact (different model but others have commented that they were having the same issues with fuel tools). I found the issue and put it in a video here on how to fix it kzfaq.info/get/bejne/a7V-hdWG0dDXg30.html

American dream, over priced, overrated. M18 fuel 1'impact ', 3 years - 3 times battery changed under warranty, electronics once. 3 months after warranty -one battery gone, another month and electronics gone, mosfet do not last I Hear - 250usd for set of electronics, battery hb8 200usd labour 100usd, do your math -Beyond economical repair. Gun was used on average 40min per week if no less. If you buy it -do not use it - may last longer. Battery comes loose after few hours of run, free play grows with every impact - locking system designed by idiot, heavy battery on the bottom far away from impact source only increasing wearing force but battery literally not secured at all - invest in cable ties, fat ones. On the bright side -square 1” drive shows no sign of wear. I am going to chop it of and make my self fancy expensive cube, wasted so much for this crap- couple more for machinist makes no difference. Be warn - do your homework before you believe in American dream😊

Maybe he should of Russ. However, sometimes you of to be able to of the patience to stick with a chosen brand when they of only just fetched a new tool out and of yet to iron out the creases. It seems Milwaukee of at lest done the repair and we can hope, in the future, less people will experience the same problem. I hope so anyway as I of bought into their brand! I hope I don't of any bad experiences with their tools that I already of! You know what I'm saying, Russ!!
