In this video I share my thoughts about the Milwaukee M12 FUEL Hackzall. Model number 2520-20. I purchased the Model Number 2520-21XC which includes the tool, 4.0ah battery, battery charger and a bag to carry everything in. More information/specs can be found at Milwaukees website.
milwaukeetool....
I purchased this tool to because of its compact size compared to a normal corded version. I intend to use this when I am working on a vehicle and need to cut something in a tight space, this should be able to get the job done without cords and extensions. It would also be a good option for someone that needs this to cut wood or metal but does not need to use it for extended periods of time. I purchased a set of Milwaukee blades separately to cut different materials. The tool will only come with a small multipurpose blade so extra blades will be needed if you do not have them already.
Below are links to the products that I purchased in this video.

I appreciate the fact that there's some wear on the tool. The fact you've been using the tool and working with it is really important in a review like this, I appreciate that you've been testing it.

These saws work best when you push the guard into the material and let the tool dictate cutting speed. Stabilizing the tool and the material is key so that the blade is the only thing moving. The tool isn’t that heavy but it is weighted toward the front so that when you hold it by the handle it naturally pushes down in the material. In general if you want it to cut faster you need more aggressive / bigger teeth. If the blade isn’t clearing the material you need bigger teeth as well. And at the end of the day it’s a one handed 12v recip not a chainsaw or circular saw or band saw. A back and forth cutting motion is about the slowest way to cut something. So proper expectations are required.

I agree but having the guard resting against the cutting material is not always possible especially if you're working in a tight area. Unfortunately nothing is perfect!

Hi, Good video. People just have to understand use the right tool for your project. Not one tool can do it all. Yes, this is a small hackzall that works for tight spaces and small demo work. This is a great saw for that. When working on larger stuff use the larger corded or cordless model like you mention. Just wanted to share.

@@scottwalker19 Exactly, also i use the diablo sawzall blades. I like that brand. I use different blade for different application. If you get a chance try them out.

I will give some of those a try. I should be able to get them from Home Depot like my grinder discs.

My only complaint with the m12 line of tools is the difficulty in unseating the battery.But they are well made and durable.

The m12 line most the tools are really meant for certain and smaller applications. I do low voltage and everything m12 has been perfect. My m18 stuff getd used when I work on my cars.

I agree, The M18 line is usually the beefier/bigger version of the M12 line if they have the same tool. Some tools are only available with one line or the other.

@@scottwalker19 I wish they could some h9w change the Size of the m28 batteries I just hate hoe heavy they are :( I tried taking my m18 gen 3 Impact with the cp 3.0 to work for a week and my damn wrist was killing me. I retired my gen 3 m12 impact for the gen 4 impact and it has quite the upgrade in rpm and it had been perfect so my prayers have been answered on that one since that's my most used tool at work.

It takes the tool/blade longer when you apply pressure. Let the tool/blade so the work.....WAAAAY faster

I should have tried a larger blade to see if that would have made a difference. I just felt like the blade I was using was not self cleaning which was causing it to cut slower. I used it a bunch on some thinner woods and it seemed to cut faster since the blade was able to empty the saw dust out. I had to put pressure most of the time as this tool does not weigh nearly as much as a corded version so it will just sit there.

do you feel a big power diff if you use the 2.0 battery?
@scottwalker19
@scottwalker19 3 жыл бұрын
There is a noticeable difference between the 2.0 ah batteries and the 6.0 ah batteries. I am referring to a difference in power and run time.

I believe it! Most new cordless tools are far superior to the older corded tools.
@The.Toaster
@The.Toaster 3 жыл бұрын
I highly doubt that. I have a corded dewalt for demolition of old galvanised steel water tanks and 10mm fiberglass panelling with stainless bolts in it, all sorts of heavy duty tasks cutting all day. It's a 1.1kw saw. You can apply your whole body weight on it and it does not stick or stall. Ever. The blade will heat bad and smoke and stick in the blade retainer, teeth will literally glow and disintegrate. It keeps on trucking and the only thing holding it back is blades. That thing is an animal. I have many Milwaukee tools but my corded dewalt recip is the go to for serious work that would be hot works if using a grinder.
