You might be surprised to find out that the Milwaukee M18 Fuel Quik-Lok String Trimmer could replace your 2 cycle string trimmer. While I wouldn't recommend it if you need to trim for hours on end, I would recommend it for the average homeowner.

Thank you for helping to finalize my decision on which trimmer to purchase. When someone buys a second one, like you did, that's a good sign! I needed a powerful trimmer that could trim around my horse pasture fence, and this model worked like a charm. The fence wire was hidden by the weeds! Proud to say I followed along with your video to put my trimmer together, and did not have to ask my husband to help me. He will be surprised to see how nice the yard looks when he gets home!

Very nice!!! If you find yourself overrun with a lot of tall weeds, I’d recommend you look at the hedge trimmer attachment for this. It acts like a mini sickle bar mower. I have one for my Stihl that I use for the ditch. I’ll eventually get the attachment for the Milwaukee so I can use it instead of my Stihl.

I have one. It’ll over heat with out the string guard. Always use a 8.0 battery and it has as much power as my gas trimmer. Also picked up the pole saw and extension for it. Don’t have anything negative on them other than I wish it would work with out the string guard. Spool holds a lot of trimmer line as well
@JaredsShop

Any idea why it overheats without the guard?
@braxtonwiggins6576
@braxtonwiggins6576 2 жыл бұрын
@@JaredsShop what I’ve picked up from online is the added string length affects the electric motor and causes it to over heat. The guard keeps the string short enough to not cause this issue. Take your guard off and run it and you’ll see what I mean.
@JaredsShop
@JaredsShop 2 жыл бұрын
@@braxtonwiggins6576 That makes sense. I didn’t realize you we’re running the string longer than the normal cut length. I could see it also allowing you to get the string more out of balance and cause issues.

I forgot to mention I have also purchased the pole saw and extension since I recorded the video. I haven’t used the extension yet but the saw impressed me. I used it quite a bit after a recent storm as we had a lot of limbs broken within healthy trees. They didn’t break off and were tangles within the canopy so the easiest way to clear them out was the pole saw. My only complaint with it is that I wish it would sit up on its bottom and not want to roll over. The bar oil tends to leak some.

I love mine so far . Haven't had to put much time on it . I sprayed most of the edges and maybe a little to much and got yelled at for it 😆 so as it grows back ill be using it more often. I'm also going to be purchasing the pole saw . That will come in handy trimming shooting lanes.

I get a little free with the spray and usually get yelled at also. So far I love the pole saw. So much easier to grab it instead of the 2 cycle. I bet you’ll notice a difference once you get an HO battery. I tried a regular battery the other day and noticed a difference.

Just picked one up today and got the same amount of yard done off a 8.0 and a 6.0 each at full charge as I used to get done with my gas powered Stihl off a tank and a half of gas. Had just as much power, if not a little more in the rabbit mode. Pretty cool tool would recommend.

We bought the quick lock system this summer. Awesome tool. I have nothing bad to say about this product. It's light weight, an 8.0 high output battery, or larger, act as a counter weight for the tool length. I've run the weed whacker for 2 hours at a time without issues. Just make sure you use Milwaukee brand batteries and not the knock off brands. They melt with the string trimmer. We live on a small farm and use this system regularly and hard at times. I don't use my gas trimmers anymore.

I haven’t looked into replacing the head on this one yet but would guess that it could be. Most use a standard thread size and pitch. I put an “ugly head” on one of my Stihls and like it.

How long does battery last on Rabbit mode vs Turtle, and how long before it overheat and stops working. Yeah, it's a known issue in some, but just need a bit more confirmation before I invest in it.

Tim from Canada there is no reason why this cannot be put together and put in the box as one piece if you were making the boxes at Milwaukee factory there is no reason why you cannot put this together and put it in the box… not everyone has a nice fancy place to work to set things up. It would be nice to have it. You take it out of the box and it is ready to go. For the kind of money people are spending on Milwaukee tools today. All of this should be put together and shipped out as one piece.

Depends on what tools you’re using. I have found quite the opposite. The HO batteries provide much more power when needed and the tool doesn’t bog down. Even things like my nailers will sink something with a 3ah HO that it won’t do with a 5ah XC. I’ll go to my HO batteries every time.
