Been half ass lifting for about 4 years now. Some months I'll go all out with exercise, eating right and sleeping right. Most of the time I don't. Buddy of mine sent me this channel 3 weeks ago and ever since, I've been 100% dedicated with everything and applying what I've learned from you guys to thr gym and damn, my outlook has changed and so has my physic. Thank you guys! 💪🏻

One of my favourite parts of the podcasts are the random trivia sections, you learn random stuff and its just funny to listen too as well - great entertainment, knowledge and wisdom all in one place.

One thing to keep in mind about the quiet quit culture in China is that for a long time, until this recent quiet quit culture, the norm was to work from 9AM to 9PM, 6 days a week. What the Chinese youth are protesting is THAT hustle culture. They would be perfectly happy to work 9 to 5, 5 days a week. When there is a trend that starts in a specific country, it's best to first look at the cultural factors surrounding the trend before comparing it to the Western culture, or worse, assuming it is the same as it is here. I am asian, born and raised in Canada but my parents still to this day think it is normal to work from 9am to 9pm and no one should complain about it. My dad did this his entire career in Canada.

Generally, work ethic is different when you are a child of an immigrant. Speaking from my own experience I have found they appreciate the opportunity and work hard to have gratitude for the chance to have a better life.

This is exactly what I needed to be reminded of. I'm 34 now and just started lifting again after taking a 3 year break from not lifting at all and completely unchecked/very unhealthy lifestyle Although i did lift regularly 3-5x a week since 16 I only ever went 'heavy' on bench (for me max 325lb) and did not even incorporate compound exercises. For the longest time I didn't even bother with legs other than machines because I already weighed over 300lbs Even when I was 175lb I never bothered much with it. This time around I'm 3 months into lifting and it's been a slow build up and mostly this past year I just simply did cardio and I'm down from my scariest highest weight of 381lb in just over a year and a few months down to 284 as of today. I'm motivated to stay consistent and learn as much as I can but honestly since I never did deadlifts or squats more than 315lb on squats max and deadlift I think 275lb I'm still gaining back some strength I lost each week and it feels good but I'm to the point where I know It's going to cap and I'm really concerned about my form to make sure it's done correctly if I go heavier than 225lb for reps. I have watched a few videos to try and re learn again but I'm definitely considering pulling a legit trainer aside and just asking him to critique my form as I'm approaching that mark where it could detrimental or harmful later on.

I've been a MP fan for years now. I've been powerlifting for 16 years on and off. I finally got back into the gym almost a year ago now, and have been fully dedicated for the last 2 months. I did 5x5 for a month and it was effective (hit 250 for the first time) and now switched to nSuns 5 day. I supplement with teks from the show and have been kicking ass. Anabolic looks like a fantastic programme and I would love to win! Thank you for all you guys do. My wife is even doing strength training now because of you.

In the Marine Corps we were always thought being a jack of all trades was a good thing. Being a jack of all trades was encouraged & a goal. Just like you guys talk about the way you lifted in the beginning & how much you have learned from one another you are well rounded trainer now. We became a better marine. A better person.

I have My dream body right now and I lift pretty heavy three days a week and hike one day a week. Two leg days and alternate push and pull days every week ( I worked out heavy about a year and a half two legs and then push day and pull day plus usually one day biking or hiking ). So now I’m maintaining very well. I eat whatever I want but stick to healthy and High protein but also I LISTEN TO MY BODY AND LIFT HARD AND HAVE GOOD FORM AND I PUSH MYSELF at the gym with “body building” focus on what I need to. especially the first year back in the gym you have to go hard. I haven’t counted calories since high school. People make it way harder than they need to 😂 seriously. Watch videos of real body builders too and learn technique. Do your research on everything and do what works for you and STOP STRESSING. So many people are worrywarts for no reason. Yoga also never hurt anyone ‼️please deep stretch your body those little dynamic type stuff isn’t the same 💯

That story with the moving of the couches, it reminds me why I prefer to train strongman versus bodybuilding even though I actually trained just about all disciplines out there, keeping myself to 2&3 RIR for the majority of the time, training impulse strength cardio and hypertrophy. Plus pressing a log is a lot better on the shoulders than a straight bar

I've always said the "Jack of all trades " in the right way. My grandfather and my father in law are actual Jack of all trades. They can fix anything, survive every thing!!! Its definitely a compliment!

Hello Sal, Justin and Adam . You guys are simply amazing and your content is by far the best I've found on Body Building . You're always so practical , empathic and generous . I'm turning 50 in September and a few months ago , a routine test found that my HBA1C had gone really high. I used to train about 5 years but I lost contact with my trainer but recently started again . Weight training in addition to diet are my main strategies for getting my HBA1C back to normal . Getting Maps Anabolic from you guys will surely go a long way to help . Thanks a lot .You guys are a huge blessing .

I do trigger sessions 3 or 5 a day on train days about 6-10 minutes each and it's much easier to keep consistent in these workout splits. This is one work-from-home adjustment that has been good for me. I am mostly self-trained and I know there are posture and positioning issues that I need to fix. The issue is, that I often get conflicting information from trainers. Where they've agreed they would have had different methods of achieving the correction. I've had better feedback from online coaches (submitting videos) than I have trying training programs in person.

I use to always deadlift with my left hand under and my right hand over. Now I'm working on fixing my lat imbalance. Thanks for the content guys.

A lat imbalance is more likely attributed to daily use of your dominant side. An O/U grip wouldn’t cause one lat to develop more than the other on deadlift. The lats are engaged to transfer power from your hamstrings, glutes, and lower back into the bar during that movement.

Become so aware of form from listening to you guys. Really got into 'greasing the groove' and practising the movements. ATG Squating while I brush my teeth and chest pressing my son while we are playing, are just 2 examples! Thanks for everything you guys do!

Forgot to mention another quote that went the same way as Jack of all trades: 'Blood is thicker than water' meaning family is more important than friends right? The full quote is actually: 'Blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb' which actually means the exact opposite!

Just bought prime and prime pro after the webinar!!! I am so pumped to be able to help myself feel better and perform better. I've been having issues with a lot of my joints and I'm only 30. Right now shoulder is a big one with clicking and pain especially after working out. Can't wait to start!! Love you guys and what you do!

It's very true that people push themselves through pain due to improper form just to push more weight. Sometimes it's just an ego thing. ( I used to be guilty of this) Great info!

i started with straight calisthenics to build the foundations, and now 10 or so yrs later doing hybrid weighted calisthenics. the key is to do something on those days your are not completely energized for consistency, all mostly done at home

Wow this one hit really hit close to home. I have developed a really bad shoulder blade issue where it doesn’t have much movement and when I train Jiu Jitsu, anytime I rotate my arm under stress my should wants to pop out. And I really want to say I made it worse by trying to lift either incorrectly or too much weight with limited mobility. Keep up the great work guys.

I love the CrossFit topic. I trained for 2 years at a CrossFit gym and loved the Olympic lifting and competition. However I felt like I could never recover so thanks to y’all I decided to leave the CrossFit gym. I still incorporate Olympic lifts into my daily training but I feel a little lost without a coach or class setting. I really do enjoy my time in the gym working through sets now just not sure where I’m headed.

Regarding vegans, you should check out Lierre Keith. She wrote a book called the Vegetarian Myth. She was a vegetarian for 20 years but had a gradual awakening because she could not ignore the damage done to her body. So she read more into the science and found out that it was not good for either her body or the planet. And also it was a bit of a cult - people made pies with chillies in them and threw them at her when she launched the book. She did an interview on the Food Lies podcast which was pretty interesting.

I remember when I first heard the full quote of the jack of all trades thing it really changed my whole perspective on how I looked at myself. I have been called that by people and identified as that but there was always a kind of negative note to it but now I kind of wear it with pride lol great episode guys

This episode is so interesting! I relate so much to what Sal said concerning work in our generation. I'm only 21 but my family taught me to never ask selfish questions at job interviews and to always work hard and leave a good impression. But seeing my coworkers act up and do the bare minimum while getting more of what they want makes it hard to keep up that attitude. Also, being extremely skilled at one thing but kinda dependent on others at other things these days creates bubbles of people, and I feel like I have to choose one thing I'm good at to reach perfection, but leave other activities out :( It's a weird time I guess

Another spectacular podcast. You are helping me a lot. I'm going to start going to the gym and the truth is that I'm a little nervous because I don't know the technique of how to do all the exercises and I'm a little afraid that they will see me doing an incorrect technique.

learn the exercises and technique before you start,start with just a few exercises you like and then you get really good at them. and you should never care what some random nobody in the gym will think about you're technique. you train for yourself.

Mind Pump team! I love the content and have been following you since January. I’m on my second shot at MAPS anabolic after injuring myself in March. Early last week I scheduled a call with PSR /MP Hormones only to be no-showed and have not received a response to my three follow up emails. Did you all cut that relationship or something? Not a good experience thus far.

Fixing bad form could be challenging at times especially when you workout alone. I want to video myself to see how my form looks so that I could make necessary adjustments but it feels really awkward and weird taking self videos in the gym. It might make some other people uncomfortable most especially if they are in the video and it might just ruin their workout. I don't take self videos to respect other gym members.

I am a vegan and I think the skit with Justin was funny as hell. You guys are looking at it rationally. I agree and appreciate you laying out what people need to be aware of going on a vegan diet. I will say your title for that podcast was definitely scripted to ruffle some feathers. Deep down I knew your views on it already in that if you feel good and are hitting high protein marks you are ok.

Nolan Ryan was hardcore because he'd lift and condition all year round. Then he'd also do manual labor on his own ranch every off season to avoid hiring extra help. His last pitch at 46 years old was clocked at 98mph. LOL **The reason why his strikeout and no hitter records will never be touched is because of his longevity and mental toughness. I mean shit...they pulled a guy out in the 7th inning this season who was pitching a no hitter. Nolan Ryan had a 13 inning 235 pitch complete game shut out once. LMAO

My grandpa built buildings since he was a kid. One time when I was kid my hamster got loose and this hamster was mean as hell. Would draw blood on people from biting them so hard. My grandpa saw I was afraid of the hamster and he went to pick it up. I told him not to cause I didn’t want him to get hurt; my grandpa picked up the hamster and this hamster gave my grandpa everything he had. He was biting the heck out of him. My grandpa had callouses so thick he didn’t even feel it. My grandpa was petting him and gently put him back. After that my hamster was never the same. Totally emasculated. They built people different back then.

I deadlift with hands 🙌 overhand bilaterally equal… why do people do switch grip v. under or over handed ??? I just started deadlifting this year but have had more growth in my booty than the last 30+ years of working out .

Guys you can't just assume people reason like that without asking (in relation to quite quitting) the job market + salaries now aren't the same as 20 years ago. There's a reason populations all around the world are "quite quitting" and it's not that they're all "just lazy" or "just pussies". Salaries are not enough for cost of living these days that people geniunely look around and say.... WTF why even bother? It's very wrong to just assume those peoples "why". Imagine if you guys did that in your coaching job. Someone comes and say they're vegan and you assume it's because of ethical reasons / they're misinformed/ they're a pussy and insist they eat meat while the person could have some medical issue that prevents them.

They’re saying everything is so easy for ppl like me who are 20 even though inflation is like at a 40yr high, right as I’m coming into adulthood, I work 60+hr weeks & can hardly afford for gas with my other necessary expenses, college these days are cripplingly expensive, bound to put me in debt for the next 20-30 years if my life, my generation and the ones below me are going to have to deal with things such as the oncoming climate crisis created by previous generations. I get we have technology and opportunities that were not granted to many previous generations but it’s not all fuckin sunshine and rainbows where everything’s so easy and we have no adversity. It jus feels like they’re generalizing and entire generation of ppl, without much empathy.
