Boston team is way too stacked it ain't even fair, their entire starting 5 with Jrue,White,Brown,Tatum,Porzingis can all get you 25 on any given night while playing good defense. The fact Bostons best player in Tatum had 16 points and they still win by 20 is crazy. While for the Mavs if Luka and Kyrie don't go crazy every game they don't have a chance. Exactly that, if you were to put bostons top 3 options Tatum, JB, and Porzingis on a lesser team, they’d each be first option on offense. Then you have white and Jrue who can be a second offensive option on lesser teams. That’s 5 stars for a starting lineup who all agreed to a role.

If Kristaps is completely healthy and this isn't a flash in the pan, the celtics will probably take this pretty easily. Tatum, Jrue, White, Brown have all been in the finals too and they lost when they should have won. They are hungry. I'm not saying Luka or Kyrie isn't hungry, but I'm saying the celtics are hungrier.

Simply an excellently built roster. 5 players who, on a good night, can all do up to 25 points. 4 all stars and 1 player who performs at an all star level. With good team chemistry. There's no other team right now where their 1st option can comfortably defer and become the 3rd or 4th best player on the team and still win. Jayson Tatum can end up as the 3rd or 4th best player in the court in a game and still end up winning. That's how much talent that team has.
@oIRONITEo

And not to mention they don't give up anything on the defensive end to achieve all that offense either. You can matchup hunt all you want, but everyone in that Celtics lineup can guard 1-5. Even if you try to get to Porzingis, he's so long he can long he can bother just about anybody. Especially someone like Luka, who's not very fast. That said, Luka is still gonna get his no matter what. But for Dallas style of offense, Boston is a very tough matchup.

Well actually they used to use Horford to stretch the bigs out in previous years. That's one thing they did in the Phlly series last year to take Embiid out of the lane and win games 6 and 7. One difference with porzingis though is that he's not just a catch and shoot big like al horford often is. They use him for mismatches in those mid range areas a lot and force the defence to collapse on him at times as well. Whereas they usually would just close out on al on behind the arc or just play him one on one on the rare occassions he would be in the post. The problem with Smart was he was a bad outside shooter. Porzingis and Holiday are a huge upgrade.

Stuart Scott and others like him (RIP) or actual “analyst” or former players… we were excited to hear their breakdown and views on the game the night before. This is why Inside the NBA w/Ernie, Shaq, Kenny, Chuck worked so well because they would still go to the board calling out plays and game breakdown. This will be the average Wemby game, insane stats and impact just like prime Bron, MJ, Shaq, Duncan or Jokic, we are talking about a futur GOAT not a star role player like Porzingis .. When this Celtics team is shooting well they are completely unstoppable. There is no team in the league that has 5 defenders that can genuinely cover Boston 1 to 1 so there’s no possible way to body all of them because even their bigs can hit 3’s. If you try taking them each 1 on 1, they’ll just screen to get Tatum or Brown a favorable matchup to push the post, if you don’t bring help and collapse on them they’re going to get at the very least a decent look, if you collapse on them they kick the ball out and 1 of the 3 perimeter players will be able to find a wide open man. Mavs have some tough calls to make. Loading up on JT and JB and switching on KP wasnt working well. JT and JB were able to find wide open shooters off drives and KP had crazy mismatches that he could just shoot over with ease. Celtics defenseive gameplan looked solid. Luka is gonna make shots, but limiting his assists not over helping was the key. Mavs will shoot better and make games closer, especially in Dallas where theyre more comfortable. Should be a really good series that goes 6 or 7 I think.

Dallas will need to pre-set their defense the same way that Boston did in game 1 so that when the Celtics are running their sets especially their 'horns/flare" Dallas can then switch the flare screen and have the desired matchup that they feel are beneficial to them. Look at who Tatum started off guarding in game 1 and then look what happen as soon as Dallas got into their ball screen action. A+ for the Celtics coaching staff in game 1. Jason Kidd will need to make major adjustments on both sides of the ball moving forward to put his team in a more favorable position to make winning plays.

This is basketball pxrn. I never even considered the stronside advantage to having a guard in the strongside dunker spot for a isolation player. Especially having guys that are great decision makers in that position. Also that flare action can be used to seal smaller defenders on switches. JT had Kyrie in jail in one of those possessions last game. Idk how Dallas is going to be able stifle the Celtics offense in this series.

Lebron is right. They have 4 guys in the starting lineup that can drive and dish. Makes it hard to guard all of them and on top of that all 5 players can shoot 3's. Jalen Brown and Tatum can create their own shot whenever and Jrue and Derrick White can do it sometimes as well. Also, they can all switch on guard and wings on defense making it hard on the offense. The only way they lose a game is if they shoot poorly from 3. Kyrie and Luka have to score 30+ for them to even have a chance. Celtics in 4 or 5.
