sooo chief, tell me why did our ancestors domesticate the wolf into today's dog?
@UrbanGardeningWithD.A.Hanks14
@UrbanGardeningWithD.A.Hanks14 Ай бұрын
@@quazar912 Because wolves have a natural tendency to interact with humans, much like the common housecat and believe it or not, the cheetah. We were able, over time, to set up enough trust, to benefit from each other. Wolves are mostly solitary, so they found if they hung around the campfire and kept other creatures at bay, they would be rewarded with food. They are also not as aggressive as bears. You still get a throwback every now and then, which is why you get a mean dog. In Africa, the natives did this with cheetahs. Most people do not know that they have been domesticated almost as long as housecats. They were used in a similar fashion to falconry. You can take a wild cheetah cub and raise it as a domestic cat because the genes are still there. You CANNOT do this with a bear, wolverine or great white shark. I hope this explains your question, and if not, ask away.

23:13 Most sea foam is not harmful to humans and is often an indication of a productive ocean ecosystem. But when large harmful algal blooms decay near shore, there are potential for impacts to human health and the environment. Along Gulf coast beaches during blooms of Karenia brevis, for example, popping sea foam bubbles are one way that algal toxins become airborne. The resulting aerosol can irritate the eyes of beach goers and poses a health risk for those with asthma or other respiratory conditions. Scientists studying the cause of a seabird die-offs off California in 2007 and in the Pacific Northwest in 2009 also found a soap-like foam from a decaying Akashiwo sanguinea algae bloom had removed the waterproofing on feathers, making it harder for birds to fly. This led to the onset of fatal hypothermia in many birds. ~ National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)

A couple of notes about clips. Time stamp 11.34 or thereabouts: perhaps I'm just being oversensitive, but given what's happened in Baltimore, I felt this was a little insensitive, seeing as six people at least lost their lives there. And time stamp 13.37- This may not have been the fastest speedboat race, but when one of those boats flips like that, the driver is invariably injured, and often killed. This was how the former Formula 1 Grand Prix driver Didier PIroni (I hope I spelled his name right) lost his life. He had retired from Grand Prix motor racing, but like so many, he was a speed junkie, got into speedboat racing, and was killed when his speedboat flipped and came down on the cockpit. I assume death was instantaneous, but even so... Perhaps it might be wise to have someone proof watch these and make sure the content won't upset anyone when married with the current context. And, to be honest, unless you see the rider/driver/ pilot of a vehicle involved in a high speed crash get up and walk away unharmed, please don't show such events as entertainment. Whilst my thumbnail pic might not hint at it, I was a motorcycle rider in my youth, and, unfortunately, I have the scars to prove it. Footage from any kind of high speed crash can trigger unpleasant flashbacks, even twenty three years on from my own. So please, bear in mind that whilst many of your viewers might perceive such things as harmless entertainment, some of us definitely do not! Addendum: I just loved the clip of the black headed gull trying to pinch a couple's meal lying on the dashboard of their car... and failing because of the windscreen. I would think that almost every holidaymaker and tourist has had to deal with these pirates at some point, so it's nice to see one of them getting screwed over instead!
